Well, I like the place

After reading the other reviews, I think either people are living in a totally different complex than I am or are exaggerating. I have had NO bug problems (I have a cat whose food is down 24 hours a day) but I make sure to clean weekly and avoid leaving rotting food in my apartment so maybe that's why. When I moved in the only "problems" I had with the place was, 1. no broiler pan in the oven and 2. the linoleum in the kitchen had a small (about 2 inch) piece broken off it. The management gave me a new broiler pan the first day I was in the place and as for the small linoleum break, well anyone who knows anything about building materials would tell you that they can't fix that without redoing the whole countertop!

As for mold, well the day I signed my lease I was told "if you see any mold report it IMMEDIATELY!!!" I've had no mold - and trust me I lived in a house that had flooded, I know mold! Once again, cleaning once a week with some bleach (or vinegar for the environmentally conscious) will kill most mold growth - trust me I have a PhD in biology!

Yes, people do prop the doors on occasion - that occasion is MOVING. Imagine dragging possessions in and out of a building with doors that require a keycard to open every time. Here's a crime prevention tip for you - lock your apartment doors! Maybe it's because I grew up in a very urban environment and have lived through two break-ins (both in another state) but I don't leave my apartment without locking the door. Also, maybe it comes from being from an urban community, but I never leave valuables in my car - hence I have never had a broken window.

Parking-wise, I have never had a problem with parking. Again, this is the first time in 5 years I've had actual spots dedicated to residents (and not shared with the general community) but I LOVE parking here. It's so much easier. I used to park 4 blocks from my house at least twice a week, this is SOOOO much better. Yes, during events people sneak guests up above the resident-only gate, and I think that sucks, but an option residents have is to call the parking service and ask them to monitor/report the non-tagged car's license plate. Then the car gets towed and I bet it's the last time those people will sneak up! During the major events, Kaboom Town, Octoberfest, etc, you can call ahead to the parking office and reserve a guest ticket so your guest can park above the gate legally. They do run out quickly, but you not planning ahead is not the apartment complex's fault. Also, during events, I've found it best to just leave my car and walk - it's healthy and saves me fighting for parking, plus it's only 3-4 times a year!

As for noise and the apartment-showing clause, well I have heard little to no noise. Occasionally I'll hear my upstairs neighbor's water running in the morning. Where I used to live I could hear the local marching band practice, the street cleaner, a pizza parlor and a bar. A few pipes making a bit of noise isn't a big deal and something that comes with any multi-family dwelling. Finally, the apartment-showing clause, either Texans have it really well and normally avoid available apartments being shown or people are being a bit snotty. Every apartment I've ever lived in has been shown after I decided to vacate but before I moved out! Once in an apartment on the East Coast I had a group of potential renters walk in on me in the shower! Again, renting is renting - the apartment managers want to make money and the only way to do that is to rent the apartments. At least at this property they make an attempt to call the people who live in the apartment and notify them. And yes, these are strangers looking at your place, but they are supervised by the agents and I doubt the agents are going to let them destroy your home!

I would recommend that people who are looking for a nice place to live check out this community. It's cheap (at least compared to what you pay in other parts of the country), a very happening community, and pet-friendly. Also, the neighbors are friendly and helpful. If you are used to major privacy, are moving out of a house, or just generally don't get along with other humans, I would suggest avoiding all apartment communities - multifamily dwellings are just not for you!

Nope, I'm not a Post employee - but if you wanna send your rent checks to me because you think I am, well I'll accept the free money. Clearly, the only people who could possibly like an apartment community work there.

Newtie, your answer is a little too diplomatic (and a little underhanded, a tell-tale sign of PAC staff mentality). The only person who would be motivated to cover all their bases the way you did is someone who is protecting one's interests. So, who do I make the rent check out to? Jodi? Rachel? [Insert PAC employee name here]? Clearly, yes! :)

Newtie, which building are you in? Seems like only certain buildlings have noise problems from reading the reviews. Of course, I don't live at Post, but was considering moving there...maybe still am considering...

Hey Newtie! I couldn't agree with you more!! I love it here. I'm reading through some of these responses thinking...are we all living in the same apartment complex? Like you, I have lived all over this country and I think people don't realize how good they have it here.
