I have not lived at these apartments but I was looking at The Talisker of Addison on the same street. I liked them at first because of the student special on the townhouse, but I quickly realized that this was not a safe area to live in.

First of all, the apartments looked pretty shabby to say the least, but I am a student with a limited amount of money and they are close to the college so I gave them a chance.

As we walked up to the model townhome I was being shown I noticed a huge family (or three) of -------- in a 1 BEDROOM standing there drinking and congregating with the door wide open going in and out. NEXT DOOR TO THE MODEL TOWNHOME!! As I was being shown the townhome I walked upstairs and she was telling me about the bedroom from the bottom of the stairs because she was too lazy to walk up!

By this point I knew I wouldn't feel safe living here. The icing on the cake was a thug with gold teeth hanging out in the parking lot leering at me as I walked by.

I don't mean to down the Addison of Brookhaven, but I couldn't find a place to comment on the Talisker (and these don't look too much better). I have a place at Country Trail in Carrollton. It is a little more expensive, but there is a different class of tenant and I feel much safer. Every day when I go down Marsh Lane I see NOTHING BUT THUGS pulling in and out of Brookhaven Club Drive.

I am an ANGLO and live at the Talisker. I would unhesitatingly characterize the above reveiw as rascist. I have neither seen nor experienced any crime since living there, and I arrive at all hours of the night. Did the reviewer ask the people congregating next to the door if they all lived in the same apt? No. Did she ask if they were Mexican, or were they Hispanic AMERICANS? Doubt it. And the unexpressed assumption is that if they are Mexican she is unsafe. But what could one expect from a reviewer who assumes that someone with gold teeth is a thug. I wonder how she can tell that there are "NOTHING BUT THUGS" pulling in and out of BCD?" Let me guess, they're all wearing signs, "I'm a thug from Mexico." In English, of course, so that she is sure to get the point. My neighbors all seem to be quiet, hardworking folks who are doing everything they can to make a better life for themselves and they're families. How un-American.

liamrowan, your an obvious ---. We're in Texas, so OF COURSE they are --------. Not that I have a problem with them, I don't. The only ones I hate are trashy Nigg#*s. When the post came up, obviously "THUG" is used to describe ------, not --------. and I liked this place. Cheap crack.

I am a black person who lives in the Talisker and I think that the post was racist, but what can I expect from people who are inbred? Kudos to liamrowan for speaking up. I get so fed up with the lilly white people who are indeed clueless. All of it won't matter in a year for me, I will be back in New York were people are nice, and yes it is the SAFEST big city in America.
