Yes, there is a large hispanic population on this street, but I wouldn't call it ghetto. There are a lot of kids here, but it hasn't been unbearable. My neighbors are nice enough. I haven't noticed any crime. I've only been bothered by loud music from a car once.
The management is passable. I've had worse. They've only lost one maintenance request. My air quit working on the hottest day of the year, and I called, but she didn't turn in my request to maintenance. I called the emergency line that night and the guy said he wasn't told. But he came out first thing in the morning and fixed it. The other minor things were fixed promptly.
There's plenty of parking. I've never had a problem. One of the car ports collapsed, but it may have been caused by a construction crew. They have been repairing the water mains all month. That is almost over, thank God.
I like my apartment. I like the floor plan, and there are 3 walk-in closets. The kitchen, while redone, is a little small though. I love my balcony, it faces the complex next door, but is screened by trees. I lucked out on the location. It's a pretty quiet place, I was surprised. I can't hear the people next door at all, and I can only hear the people below me if they're playing music loud or when they're taking a shower. There is some traffic and kid noise from the parking lot. You can't hear your roomie in the other bedroom.
One of the phone jacks was never wired in the remodel, and the SBC guy said that was a common problem here. I only use my cell phone since my roomie moved out, so I don't care.
I do have to say the management was pretty understanding when I had a falling out with my roomie. They worked with both of us, to get her out, and to give me time to come up with the rent.
The grounds are nothing special, not much green space. I can't comment on the pool because I've never been in it. The laundry rooms are barely adequate and people tend to trash them up. This is not a luxury space, but it's not a dump either. I don't think I would be as happy in a building in the middle of the property though. Not enough privacy on those balconies.
I won't be staying because my new roomie and I want washer dryer connections and a little nicer place.
