I moved in the end of Feb 08; everything was going good for me. Seeing as this was my first place to live out on my own, I knew I would be up against a few problems but never imagined all that has been going on now.
My first encounter I called the cops because of a woman above me (I live on 1st Flr)was screaming at a child and I was about to get to bed for the night. The cops came and scoped things out, however came downstairs to check with me (who called)to see if I was correct about the noise. They stated "We didn't find anyone screaming, are you sure' We did come across a woman but stated her child has been asleep." The only thing I could think of is 'if I heard it, and I'm downstairs..how come no one else heard it above them or beside them'' ...MOVING ON!
My next issue I dealt with was the smoke alarm in the living room began to chirp on a friday night right when i was headed for bed, so I took the broom handle and poked at the test button to make it stop, b/c I did that one night before and it did stop. So here I am trying to poke the button and it starts going off. I tried all that I could to see if I could remove the face or the whole thing itself and take out the batteries and I didn't see anywhere that it has a battery case, its wired to the apartment! Knowing it was too late to contact the office and no one would be there I left that night locking up and stayed the night with my parents (luckily they are 15 mins away). Woke up Saturday and contacted the office reporting my problem with the alarm, the little asian lady who now works there "Janeda" or something took place of one other chick who worked when I moved in, told me that the computers are down so I needed to come write down the problem (which was fine) so after that I didn't hear anything for about 30 mins and called her again to check and see when I should expect maintenance to show up' She replied "well one is out of town on vacation and the other is away but on call" So I said "okay, do I need to be here when they show up'" She said "Oh no, they have master key" so I got myself cleaned up at the apartment and left that whole day to be away from the noise. While out, I get a call from Janeda saying "ok, he's on his way out" I said "thank you for calling." Finally when I get home that evening I walk in and no notice was given by the maintenance or leasing office telling me someone has entered my apartment. However the noise from the alarm quit, assuming they did the job and I got myself ready for another night back in my apt. Right as I was sound asleep, 2am rolls around with a wake up call from...' YOU GUESSED IT! The smoke alarm!'!'!' So this time I was pissed, no notice of entrance to my place, no sleep, and a 15 min drive BACK to my parents! The next day (Sunday) I contact AGAIN the leasing office trying to talk to Jessica or a manager complaining that the alarm was still going off at random times and I sternly asked DID anyone even come in my place' I told her I never saw a notice or never rec'd a phone call about the fixture. So I even stated "I even thought about cutting down the alarm just so I may sleep" IN THE PLACE I F-ing PAY FOR!!! The chick wouldn't let me talk to Jessica but that she would try again to get someone out there to fix my alarm. Here it is the 3RD DAY and no results!!! Monday (workday) they finally complete the task the way I wanted them to the FIRST day I asked. Why is everything taken care of on "their time" not ours'''
Not long after THAT, I encounter the NEXT problem which is that the hot temp on the water heater fails to put out any warm water, so I try the next day to take a shower and NO hope!!! So I up and contact the management again and tell them I NEED hot water, Jonell understands and sends maintenance right away to fix it. That night I HAVE hot water. Thank goodness...
WAIT that's NOT all, here it is only a couple of weeks since the water heater ran out of water, and I'm calling them yet again. What the hell is going on''' They seem to only know how to handle a problem on a temporary basis!!!!
I hate this place, DO NOT live here. And be sure if you are living here already, GIVE A 60 day notice of leave not 30!!!
