My boyfriend and I lived at this complex (with a roommate) for two years and would not recommend this complex unless it is under new management. Parking was a nightmare - even after paying for a reserved spot others often parked in my space, especially late at night. I could not call and get the cars towed or ticketed after office hours ended (the managemnt usually left an hour early at 4pm). This was very frustrating because I would have to walk to my apartment from some far away parking space late at night (as a young woman, this made me very nervous). managemnt said tht they couls only do something if someone parked there during office hours. The insulation in the apartments was alo very poor and in the winter we could feel cold air blowing in through our electrical outlets. These are fairly noisy apartment and we could often hear our neighbors talking and walking around. The kids play in the parking lot and damaged our cars several times when playing by them. When we complained to management they said that they would tell the kids to disperse whenever they played kickball by the cars, but they never did (this was NEXT TO the front office). management refused to do anything about the noisy and overall bad neighbors. The let packs of teens move into apartment and never listened to our complaints until we called the police on kids who were outside banging metal together at 12am. These kids (teens, really) left their bikes in the only walkway for our building and worked on their bikes (banged metal) outside at all hours of the night. When we finally threatened to call the texas renters association and fiile suit against them for forcing us to live in unsafe conditions (the only way into our building was often blocked by multiple bicycles stacked on top of eachother across the entire sidewalk and stairwell), the manager said,"you're good tenents, we'd hate to loose you." Our response that they should favor good tenents instead fo teens who don't pay their rnt and destroy property went unheard. We were eventually told, by management, the the "bike family" was being evicted, but they lived in the complex for several more months. Overall we didn't like living somewhere where we had to be mean and argumentative to get anything accomplished. If you are a nice, quiet tenant here you will be ignored by the polite but stupid and lazy management.

There is a new manager now, the bike family did leave but there is a process to be followed in evicting someone. I know for a fact the office never closed at 4:00.

I have just finished my first year here at Maple Trail. I must say that I find my experience to be just the opposite of this review. I have found the office staff, especially RRobertson, to be extremely helpful and accomodating. There is a shortage of parking near buildings 12 and 13 however management has hired a towing company that patrols the parking lot EVERY night. If a vehicle without proper stickers is parked in a resident's paid space, that vehicle will be towed. I have personally witnessed this happen on several occasions. And this occurs only after the proper notification has been issued. IE, signs posted everywhere, resident news letters, etc. Kudos to the management! I have not had a problem with anyone parking in my assigned space in many months. I find the complex to be quiet and safe. I can go outside and walk at 2am if I want and not have to worry about crime. Maybe it's because I live back by the woods but I have no problems with noise. My apartment is built very well and I have only had to call maintenance one time in the year I have lived here. I had a leaky refridgerator when I moved in and it was handled quickly and very courteously by the staff. I must reiterate that RRobertson will bend over backwards to help her residents. I have enjoyed my first year here. I am getting ready to renew my lease. My experience at Maple Trail over the last year has made this an easy decision to make. Oh and as a former police officer I assure you that the eviction process does take time. Further let me state that I am not a member of the office staff nor am I an employee of Maple Trail. |
