We moved to Settlers Gate after selling our home. We were in the process of building a new home and needed somewhere to stay in transition for approximately 4 to 5 months. At first we were impressed and it seemed everyone was very nice and ready to assist. As we went to pick up our keys with the date we gave them we were informed there was an error and the apartment had not been cleaned. This was a problem considering we had movers scheduled the following day. They attempted to clean the apartment but we were less than impressed upon move in. The real frustration came after we moved out. We wrote on our move in check list that there were stains in the carpet. Upon move out we cleaned for 4 hours and frankly the apartment was much cleaner and more presentable upon move out than move in. They deducted 105.00 from our deposit refund for stains in the carpet. After two phone calls they still did not understand their fault at deducting from our deposit what we had previously documented the stains. I was initially told to call back 3 days later to allow them time to research the issue. When I called that same person back, she had forgotten the discussion I had with her only 3 days prior. They finally agreed to adjust the refund by another 65.00. It is a shame companies like this can get away with such acts. I would not recommend them due to their management staff alone.
