Not tenant friendly

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2006
I am in the process of moving OUT of Settler's Gate apartments. I have lived in Settler's Gate since I moved to Texas in 2001. They were just like any other apartment complex until they were bought out by Sherman Residential sometime in 2004. Since then I have experienced the following:
- They gave my parking spot to new tenants and accused me of lying that I was ever assigned parking. We had to find the paperwork with our names, apartment number and the number of the parking spot. We of course course kept a copy from when the spot had been assigned to us three years before.
- They stuck an orange sticker on my husband's car that it would be towed for a recently expired inspection sticker. The car was parked in OUR ASSIGNED parking spot and we had not yet received the sticker in the mail. We did not know it was the complex's responsibility to monitor people's tags. Hmmm especially with while our neighbors have had the same OUT OF STATE DRIVE OUT TAGS for SIX MONTHS.
- They had a bogous "fire inspection." My husband was home that day, the inspectors did not even make it past the living when they thanked him and left. The next day we had a notice on our door informing us that we had an unauthorized pet. We again had to find the paperwork where we paid the pet deposit back in 2002 when we got the cat. When we went to complain there was a line of tenants there before us with the same complaint.
- Last week when temperatures were 103 degrees, our air conditioning went out. We called maintenance when we got home that evening, they told us they could not come out until the next morning. It was 98 degrees when we went to bed. They did not fix the AC until 8 o'clock the next morning.
- Today is moving day. First let me go back a step and say when new management took over, they took out all the trash recepticals except ONE for the entire 432 units. Pick up is Mondays and Thursdays. One can only imagine what the ONE receptical looks like by Monday morning. Our lease says if tenants have trash others days, they cannot put it out for pick up. They can either wait until pick up day or take it over to the ONE receptical all the way on the other side of the complex.
We are in the process of moving our stuff which everyone knows can generate a lot NONPERISHABLE trash. We've been moving for two days. Taking boxes to our new house and getting stuff ready for the movers. It is a small one bedroom apartment so we put stuff out in front of our door to get it out of the way while we get boxes out. The bags were not even out there for THREE hours and we have a notice stating not only must we remove the trash immediately but we must also PAY $200. (Please note tomorrow is Monday) As of now, the situation is not resolved. The two women in the office say that only the manager can take the charge off our bill. They advised that the manager lives in our builing and requested we receive the lease violation. We would have to take it up with her. There was no warning, no inquiry, I can only assume this is because they don't really want the problem resolved, they just want to bill us for $200. The women in the office even said if we did not move it immediately they would continue to fine us.
We would also like to mention that TWO of the bags were filled with towels and cat toys I was donating to THEIR fund raiser for the Allen Animal Shelter. We have to keep it here in the apartment until they will receive the items on the 19th (today is the 18th).
The thing that makes it so exasperating is we have been tenants for almost 5 years. We have never been late on our rent. We paid for our cat as soon as we bought him. We have never had any violations of ANY KIND but we are constantly treated like we are criminals.
