I liked living in Carriage Park. My apartment faced in to the courtyard, which was tree-filled and generally pretty peaceful. Some of the neighbors were rowdy, there was a bit of drug use seen, but it wasn't particularly dangerous.
The fixtures were flimsy, the storage sparse, the kitchen tiny, and the maintenance more imaginary than tangible, but with the electricity included in the rent, it was a deal. Yes, kids do run around on the grounds and in the parking lot, but I'd rather see kids out at play than parked on their butts stuck inside. Kids should play! People feel safe enough to let their kids run around and to leave plants & patio furniture out on porches. It was a generally pleasant place to live.
