I would advise to stay far away from Centennial Court. I moved into CC with a positive outlook and trying to make the best of the place. I would discount any bad rumor and try to justify everything about CC. However, after dealing with them today I can say that this is the worst management I have ever experienced. They are disorganized, unprofessional, and apathetic.

I moved in and my roommate was the complete opposite of me. I toughed it out for 6 months, but then I couldn't stand it anymore so I requested a change in roommate. The management was not very helpful, but after I griped enough they finally moved me into a handicapped apartment where the girl that resided there only rented out the apartment because she had the lease but she didn't actually live there, she lived with her fiance. So, I still have never met her, only emailed her. Anyway, that's the one good thing about this place, they virtually gave me my own apartment by myself. :D Anyway, so I'm living here in this new apartment now. They would not give me my new apartment number until the day before I moved in, so I couldn't change my address on my bills any sooner than that. So I filled out the forwarding address form in the office. One would expect that since they filled that form out that the mail would be forwarded, right' Well, you would be wrong, quite wrong. After not recieving hardly any mail I, today, went to my old apartment and asked my roommate if I had any mail. She gave me a STACK of mail of bills, tax info, etc. Every time that I had asked my roommate before today about the mail she told me she hadn't gone up to the office to get the mail key, so she didn't know what was in the mail box. So I went up to the office and complained, they didn't seem to care that they completely disregarded my forwarding mail request. I am also missing mail that I KNOW my family has sent to me weeks ago, but I have not received any of it. With these people running CC I probably never will.

Also, I ordered something off eBay back in October but I never recieved a notice for a package from the office, EVER. Back then I was still naive and thought for sure if they received a package for me that they would put the notice in my mail box. I had been up there multiple (multiple x 100) times to get other packages (yes I am an ebayer) but they never found that one that I thought never arrived. So I went through crap with ebay and the seller. Then last month my grandparents sent me a birthday package and I never recieved a notice for it either, so I went up to the office to ask about it. At the same time I was picking up another package that I had received a notice for, and they just happen to find the one from October. They did not apologize or even seem sorry. They just giggled. So everytime I went up there they would tell me the manager was sick, or busy, or not there, or in a metting, and they would have him call me back. Never did he call me back. So today I go back up there and they try to play it down and say they never recieved the package from my grandparents, even though the last time I was up there they had in ther books that they recieved something at around the time my grandparents package would have arrived. Still, I couldn't talk to the manager because he was "in a meeting". About 15 minutes after I left, the RA called me back and said he couldn't find the package (um like duh he had already looked for it while I was there moron). He told me I'd have to get a tracking number to prove anything. So I asked for the manager and miraculously I got to speak to him, Jade Gomez. Well, I told him everything, and still no apology. He just said he'd need a tracking number. I got pissed off majorly and started screaming at him and finally after I said I want an apology he said "Sorry!" Not very believable. So anyway I'm giving up on that package.

The only person who has ever been any kind of help to me has been a guy named Harrison. He's the only professioal one in the place and he's only an RA. So if you are so unfortunate as to move to CC and you have any probs, hopefully he will be on duty.

Another complaint: When I changed apartments they tried moving me into this nasty, uncleaned apartment. They did not clean the carpet in my room, there were dirty stains on the carpet, hair EVERYWHERE and the tile in the bathroom is disgusting. My old apartment at CC, before I changed, was very nice- no problems at all except the dishwasher broke once but they replaced it (kind of slowly but they did eventually). So anyway, I made them clean my new apartment before I moved in. I still had quite a bit to clean but whatever.

And some more complaints:
Sporadically the gate card they give you will stop working. The insulations sucks so your electric bill will be high (but they are including electric in their sky-high rent next year so you won't have to worry about that). The apartments are tiny for such a high price. The furniture they furnish is 20 years old and disgusting and charge way too much for it. I have had a few bugs but not many, but that's normal for any apartment building I hear. The walls are thin and I could always hear my old neighbor banging his girlfriend on the otherside of my bedroom wall. I can hear people talking in nearby apartments, I can hear just about everything that goes on because the walls are so thin. The parking here sucks. If you don't want to park in the boonies you have to be home and parked by 8 or 9pm or else risk being mugged or robbed at gunpoint (not kidding!). The sliding doors on my closet are aways coming off because the railing is so old it bends so easily. My drain in my bathtub is clogged, was when I moved in, and I'm not sure whether that's my prob to deal with or maintenence. I will be finding out soon. And in my old apartment there was always some foul odor coming up from the bathroom sink, it was awful. Oh yeah and one time there were kids throwing phone books at the cars from the balcony. ANY time that you go in to the office you are never greeted or asked if you can be helped, except for on occasions, or if they know you are pissed (I think they know my face now). When I first moved here I could walk into the office with 4 RA's in the office and not one of them would help me until I said "HELLO'''' EXCUSE ME''''" because they were too busy watching vh1. The management NEVER calls you back for ANYTHING. I have always had to call them back after an RA tells me that the manager will call me. I give them plenty of time too, like weeks.

Anyway, a place is ---- if the management is poor. The management at Centennial Court is extremely poor. The organization of the office and procedures is disorganized and problems (like mine) occur all the time. Actually, while I was in there today, another resident (who was signing her intent to move out form) told me she knows exactly what I'm talking about.

I never expected to move into a place SO bad as this. These apartments look more decent on the outside than any others nearby, but the size of each apartment compared to the price of rent is HORRIBLE! Also, you are paying for August when they won't let you move in until August 28. I found that out AFTER I signed the lease.

My lease ends this August because I signed a year long lease and I am counting the days.

The grounds of the apartment look nice, but they also wake you up early some mornings with a leaf blower outside your window.

The lighting on the buildings outside is okay. I mean, I'd like more light when I have to park in the boonies late at night. THere are no lights out there. But the lights on the buildings are motion detected once you get close enough to them. Lighting could be improved.

The gate is a joke. You (or any mugger or robber) can just sit outside the gate and wait for someone with a card to drive up and open the gate and follow right behind them. On any normal day I see about 2-4 cars waiting for a person with a card to get in. Rarely does just one car go in at a time. Multiple cars go in all the time, whether or not they live here. They say they have running camera's, but I have heard that they are not on because when somebody got mugged they wouldn't show any footage of the cars entering the premises that night.

Like I said, my old apartment was nice than the one I'm in now, except it had no carpet, just ugly brown and rippled linoleum. The dishwasher quit and maintenence fixed it within 8 weeks. My curret apartment (upon moving in) has stained carpet, stained bathroom tile (mold'), stuff written all over the kitchen cabinets in fingernail polish, the blinds were caked with dust, there are cracked electrical covers in my bedroom that they refuse to fix, the ac/heater vent makes a racket when on. But for other issues the maintenence are normally pretty fast about fixing things once you put in a ticket though, and the maint. staff are really nice (the ones I've met anyay).

Pets are not allowed but people sneak them in anyway.

Roommate "matching" service is a joke. My first roommate was 100% opposite of me lifestyle wise plus she was way younger which was something I was trying to aviod.

They have little "get togethers" but they are lame.

I worked as an RA there a long time ago. Seems like that place will NEVER change. The basic reason is that Century (the owners) don't give a s***, and anyone who doesn't agree with them, they fire and get new people in. I remember rape happening, major drug deal bust, frequent thefts etc. UTA should step in and clean the place up, as they are partial owners of the place. It is a *major* disservice to the students who come in thinking this is part of UTA housing. I can fill twice the space that you wrote, as I have seen a lot of crap living and then working there, but no need...as it ALL will fall on deaf ears. Such a sorry thing.

I was one of the very lucky ones! My daughter was going to come to this University and live in these apartments. I left a deposit online but then a week later I came acorss all the reviews about the horrible things that have happened here and we were horrified! I even asked BEFORE giving a deposit if anything, such as robbery or rape has EVER happened...the woman said no! Well she lied! Later, I spoke with a friend of mine who happens to be a police officer (whose daughter was violently raped there) and he said....get her out of there! Well, we were one step ahead of him and had already done so! After reading just one review, we immediately pulled her out of the University (which I believe to be a good school) and then called Centennial Court to get back my deposit. Of course they must deducted a portion of it due to fees....so they say. This was back in May and I have had nothing BUT the run around ever since! These people are the most unprofessional individuals I have ever dealt with. They need to hire a whole new staff...no one knows anything or maybe they do and just don't give a damn! Jade Gomez seems to want to help but I can only wonder with all the run around I've had so far. I will get my money back....soon! To all you parents out there.....READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE MAKING ANY DECISIONS ABOUT COMING HERE...YOU WILL BE SO GLAD YOU DID! My daughter will now be attending a very safe and well organized BEAUTIFUL University...and best of all her father and I can now sleep well just knowing she will be ok! Thank God for reviews...
