I haven't had hot water in my bathroom since the middle of January and it's now April!!! I've called so many times I've lost count. Everytime I called it was the same answer "We'll call the maintenance people and see what's going on then we'll call you back." Did anyone ever call me back' No. Did my hot water ever get fixed' No. I would leave messages if it was after hours asking someone to call me back. Did they' No. Do you know what it's like to have to take freezing showers when it's snowing outside' Did they care' Nope. So after two months of calling them every other day to get this fixed I finally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Then a couple weeks later at the end of March (that's 2.5 month with no hot water) they fixed the hot water in one of our bathroom, but the other one STILL has only cold water. I've called a couple times about it, but nothing has been done. I just gave up because my lease is up at the end of April anyway. THANK GOD.
And there have been a few other problems with maintenance... When I first moved in the faucet in my shower was messed up. Not the actual faucet part, but the handle thing you use to turn the water on...whatever that thing is called. I had to call 3 or 4 times before the maintenance guy finally came out and "fixed" it. So I went to take a shower later that day and when I was going to turn the water off after I was done the handle thing that was "fixed" came unglued or unscrewed off the wall and water starts spewing out of the pipe. And I'm not talking about a little bit of water either - it was enough force coming out of there that the handle flew across the bathtub and hit the wall on the other side pretty hard. My bathtub started filling with water pretty damn quick and if the water wasn't turned off within a few minutes the bathtub would have started over flowing. I called the emergency maintenace and got a message machine that said something like "Leave a message and if it's really an emergency then the maintenance person will call you back." My bathtub was about the overflow and I can't even get a hold of the maintenance people!!!! So I called 911 and then sent a firetruck over and they turned off the water. This happened at 11 pm. The maintenance people called me back at 3 AM!!!!!!!!!! If that's not an emergency, then I don't know what is!!!
Basically, if you like to take showers at all, then I wouldn't live here. The water is constantly being turned off at random times during the day with no warning. I was in the middle of a shower one day with soap in my hair and the water got turned off.
Oh and to top it off, we have new management now and we have to pay a flat water fee of $50 a month (for the water that doesn't even work!!!). Before I payed about $25.
And the guy above me has a dog that he never cleans up after, so the grass outside my apartment is like a mine field. I've complained to management, but they don't do anything.
And I've had random drunk people come banging on my door in the middle of the night. That just makes me feel so safe!
DON'T LIVE HERE!!!
