I was excited when I first moved here but my excitement has turned to anger

I moved into Colonial Village at the end of 2007. I loved the location because there is quick access to 360 and 30, the floor plan was awesome for its price, and I got brand new appliances including free washer and dryer. Great deal...so I thought. This complex doesn't have mandatory exterminating and it shows. I've seen the biggest cockroaches, more spiders, ants, and roaches at these apts than I've ever seen in my life. As a matter of fact, I was laying in my bed last night and my ceiling fan began to make a funny noise. All of a sudden a big cockroach falls out of my ceiling fan onto my bed. My 1 yr old niece was laying there asleep!!! Talk about pissed off!!! When I first moved in I had problems with my hot water, ie NONE!!! Tub drain was always clogged and slow draining. Bathroom sink was leaking. And to top it off my AC goes out on a regular basis. Mind you its freakin July. But I've been having problems with my AC since May. I've received nothing but temporary fixes that don't last but 30 minutes after maintenance leaves. I'm saying, if a new AC unit is needed then buy a new one. I pay enough money in rent, water, and cable to pay for a new unit!!!!! The proper precautions aren't taken when it comes to security. As I've seen in so many other complaints: the main entrance gate is ALWAYS broken, my car was broken into and I have yet to see any security or surveillance, 2 or 3 attempts in about 2 months have been made to rob the soda machine, non residents can literally just walk into this complex via the door by the office that IS NEVER LOCKED, the fitness center doesn't lock and it sucks cause its always hot in there (just like my apt)!!! I am soooo disappointed. I just knew that this is the place I would be until I was ready to purchase a home. That is so not the case anymore. When my lease is up I am outta here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

CV in N Arlington sounds too much like the CV apartments where I live. Slow draining tub? Check. But while I'm in the office and hear someone else ask for a work order for theirs, I follow up with the assistant manager and ask if there's a larger problem since more than one person is asking... I'm told that she hadn't anything. AC problems? Check. I end up spending hundreds (plural) of $ over the past 2 summers to resolve all the cracks forming around the windows and doors. It's humid as hell and they say they hadn't heard of it with anyone else... yet I'm in the office when I hear a leasing agent comment to the the other about 'another' call about extreme humidity in an apartment that's been causing mold. Entrance gates broken? Check. Of course you add the gates being propped open to that, but everyone here should have a remote so it must be the trashy tenants propping the gates open for their trashy friends. The manager actually said she should take the cameras down from the entrances to resolve any liability. wtf?!? Fitness center? Check. Equipment doesn't work and is not being repaired. Wanna guess what would happen if a resident reduced the rent or didn't pay on time? I think a lot more would happen to that resident that is happening to CV for not maintaining amenities in an adequate and a timely manner.
