This is a good place to start if you are new to the area or moving on your own for the first time. My husband's job relocated him to the area. We needed an inexpensive apartment with some amenities for him to use while working until we decided if the entire family would relocate. The apartment was inexpensive and met our basic needs, but nothing more. Since this apartment, I've lived in other apartments and can see small upgrades that make even an old building look and feel much better such as paint, inexpensive berber style carpet, crown molding, formica countertops, and resurfacing the bathtub. Here's our story. Pros: good price washer/dryer in the unit intrusion alarms covered parking front of complex well maintained broken gates repaired next day on weekdays, no later than Tuesday when broken on weekend proximity to highway accessible location new dryer, refrigerator, carpet, vinyl in my unit
Cons: not well maintained (see list of inexpensive upgrades) slow response to maintenance requests abundance of trees led to overabundance of insects the closer to the back you get, the more infested the apartments are with roaches poor lighting in parking lot uneven floors in apartment slow drains in bathtub, even after repaired dirty stairs and balconies drawers don't fit, don't open/close properly cabinet doors uneven obvious water damage to cabinets that wasn't properly repaired dirty blinds always someone waiting at the gate to get in
I did not have to deal with the office staff very often, but when I did they were slow to respond. When it was time to renew my lease they offered an increase of $60 a month even though they had signs around the neighborhood advertising units starting under $400. They were not willing to negotiate the price. When I asked why they were more willing to bring in someone who was untested instead of negotiating with a tenant with proven ontime payments, and no issues, they had no response. I decided not to renew my lease and found a different place to live.
If cost and amenities are your main priorities, this could be the place for you. Otherwise, keep looking.

That is the Gospel. I live in the back with the roaches and they refuse to come and do anything about it, except come and sray on Tuesday and the it is not real insect spray. They are very very slow in fixing any maintenance issues. I will NOT be renewing my lease. You get what you pay for.
