Ok, well I am in the apt industry (wasn't when I lived there) but when I think back to living there, it was really an unsafe environment. The management staff was really unpleasant and I know people have all kinds of experiences some think its great others think its horrible... my experience was very poor and I would never live there or refer any of my friends or family there. What are you really expecting when I can name at least two strip clubs within less than a mile of the complex. I had called the cops due to drug dealers in the parking lot, I had a bug problem in the apartment, but I think that the worst part of it was the lack of customer service, if there was a problem I'd have to call at least 2 more times to make sure they didn't forget about it. The alarms really don't work, mine didn't and my friend across the complex didn't either. The apartments are cheep though, and for some that is what really matters, I know at the time that is what I was looking for, but its true that you get what you paid for... I paid nothing for nothing, poor service from all staff (maintenance too), dirty grounds, etc. I am not trying to sound like all the other jerks on here, but really I just hated everything about the place, mainly the manager... I don't think in the 3 years I have been in this industry I have met a more horrible person, and if the manager sucks everyone else will too

Just so everyone knows, generally in apartment complexes that have alarm systems installed, you have to pay for the actual service if you want it to do anything. Usually the apartments do not pay for the alarm service, they just have the system if you want to get the service for yourself.

And, just so everyone else here knows, with this particular complex, you are told to give the complex manager a code number at the same time you are signing the lease. This is a free security service provided by the complex. At least, its supposed to be... it took them 5 months to re-wire ours where the carpet guys cut it, and program it with our code. I've lived in much better places, I have lived in much worse places. Its satisfactory for our needs at the moment, except our oven and toilet and washer are broken lolol....
