Don't move into Bldg 8!

We loved the location of Bldg 8 when we picked from the available list of 1st floor apts, but after living there 2 years and knowing the office staff very well, we learned that building has many, many issues.
It has foundation problems and every few months we would be unable to open our front door from the shift. Maintenance would have to come out and re-drill the knob holes so we could open & close the door. Scarry when you can't get in. At least with a patio door you can still get out!
Also, the bugs are a big problem along with snakes, & frogs galore! I'm sure most of this has to do with the 2 ponds on the property, but it can be anoying at times. We would unscrew our porch light just so we could get in & out of the apartments without being followed by 5 bugs!
Lastly, the windows are of poor quality in all the buildings. Shortly after we moved in I noticed black mold growing around the entire window and when it would rain the windows leaked so bad I had to put a towel on the window sill & on the floor to catch the excess water. We also had a problem in summer & winter with condensation on the windows. So bad it would run down the windows and you couldn't really see out of them. When I talked to management they explained that they had been in a long battle with manufacturer vs. contractor on who was responsible for repairing or replacing them. When maintencance came out all they did was repaint the windows which just allowed the mold to come back in a short time.
The management was great. Both GMs that were there. (We lived there 2 years & there had been a change) The office staff was friendly.
We did have some issues with the section 8 apartments coming over often to use our pool, but the office staff was good about kicking them out when the office was open.
