For the most part I'm enjoying myself..

My girlfriend and I moved into these apartments not too long ago and since.. I'd have to say that it's been a rather enjoyable stay.

Aside from a few Christmas tree fires over the holidays it's been pretty quiet.

If you value your sleep - steer clear of the gates and any apartment facing Green Oaks Blvd.. There is traffic 24/7 and at no point in time is it quiet. If you like to leave your windows open when you are at home (like I do) then you want to stay as far away from Green Oaks as possible. I can't watch TV and have a window open. It sucks. I want to move apts and let some other sucker have my spot (you' hehe)

I still don't know my neighbors names.. Nor have I seen them but a few times since I moved in. I don't know what to think about it actually.. I figure they are just -------s - or don't speak english or something. No sense of a strong community what-so-ever.

I live in a 1br. apt. and in terms of space it's adequate, and the price isn't so bad compared to their competetors down the street.

As far as the management goes - I haven't had any troubles except for one. The woman that did my lease forgot to tell me that there was a rather large deposit until the last moment. Granted this extra deposit was because I had no renters history.. but it was still underhanded in my book. I ate ramen noodles for 2 weeks!

Currently the complex is under siege by, what I like to call "operation home invasion", they recently redid the roof (which was annoying, but appreciated, and quick too took 2 days).. and they've posted notices about selecting apartments for maintinance/inspection on the AC, Plumbing, and something else.. I can't remember.
Apparently they don't make apointments which is by far the most disturbing thing ever. Rented or not it's still "my home" and I would appreciate it if I was told that someone was visiting well in advance so I can mark it on my calandar so the place can at least pass a visible inspection.

Parking sucks in my area, but there ARE plenty of parking spots available - it's just some nights (usually weekends) I have walk 1 or 2 buildings down to get to my door. I swear each of my neighbors has 10 cars. In other parts of the complex i've noticed that parking is readily available.

The pool I swim in is nice and clean.. It's actualy two pools divided by a walkway that is slightly below the water line. It has a water fall.. and a hot tub that was more enjoyable than the Fireplace in my apartment over the winter.

Oh yea.. speaking of fireplaces.. the main reason why I wanted one was for a mantle (pictures and stuff).. my unit doesn't have one nor do I know if any other units do. How retarded is that'

All in all - if you are looking for a temporary solution (1-3 years) while you search for that spot you really want.. You won't have to "cope" with Forest Ridge - it's a nice place to live.

(stay away from Green Oaks! I beg you! You will regret it.)
