As Close to the Ghetto as it gets!!

Although I only lived there for 3 months, I can already tell you this is not somewhere safe to live.
Sure, there is plenty of parking and (from the outside) the complex looks well maintained but there is definitely more than meets the eye. Within the first week of my experience, there were 3 car break-ins.. one of which everything but the body of the car was stolen!! It sat on 4 bricks for a few days before getting towed. Another was a convertible that someone had ripped the top open, only to find that there was nothing to steal! It appeared to be the second time that one had been burglarized. So, sure! Park your car anywhere you like because NO WHERE is safe.
Moving on to the noise level, this is one of my least concerns. Being on the bottom floor, I could hear every pounding footstep of the kids above us at 3 o'clock in the morning. The neighbors behind us were extremely quiet and the ones beside us occasionally let their dog go on barking frenzies. But hey, anywhere you go you're going to hear SOMEONE.
The overall appearance of the community was very dry and dull. Most of the landscaping attention was paid to the very very front of the property. I suppose to lure in newcomers' There are plenty of bushes and brown grass everywhere if you like the unkept look. The buildings themselves' Well, you can definitely tell it's not a priority but there is SOME effort going on there. The grass gets cut almost every week it seems so maybe that's where all the rent money is going.
Safety is another issue in itself. Apparently there was a robbery in June and a shooting in July. Way to step it up! What's the deal with all the crazies' Like I said before with the cars being broken into, I don't feel safe parking, walking, or existing in this complex. Needless to say I was sure to keep all my doors and windows locked at ALL times, not just at night.
The construction of the building appears to be decent from the outside but anyone who has even stepped foot inside knows better. Two sinks backed up within the first day. And my toilets were out for 2 weeks straight. I called EVERY day to get someone out there but only spoke with a real, live human 3 times. The rest of the times, I left detailed messaged with TWO phone numbers to contact me. When the woman actually DID answer the phone she was very short with me and treated me like filth. When the toilets finally did get "fixed," suddenly there was a leak somewhere in the wall that could definitely be heard even with the t.v. on. I notified management yet again but no one came out. A few weeks passed and all of a sudden I had a wet spot in my bedroom wall in the exact spot I heard the leak. Surprised' Nope. I called yet again and there was no answer. As the days progressed and my phone calls increased in number, the wet spot grew.. and even started to grow mold. Now my wall is taken over with black mold and the baseboard is completely warped. The leak has seeped in through the carpeting and now all I hear is squish squish squish!!!! The a/c' Well.. I won't even go there. Let's just say for this entire month my bill was well over $300 (for a DOWNSTAIRS apartment!) and my apartment neared 85 somedays. I was lucky to sleep in 78 degree temp. I would have slept outside but the mosquitos infesting this place are intense! Not to mention I'd have to sleep with a baseball bat!
I don't even have to go into what the maintenance is like because with all the problems of the building.. it's an obvious guess.
The office staff acts like they all hate their jobs, lives, and themselves.. so don't even bother calling because they won't answer!
Overall, I would rate this as a dump not even the roaches will come around to. Luckily, I've only had to kill 3 roaches. the rest would rather live outside.
I'm calling the health department tomorrow. How about you' GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!
