Family Friendly & Ghetto

I moved into my apt in Dec of 2005, I thought this was going to be a really good place to live, but I was wrong. I dont hate my apt, but it was very clear after about 2 months that this was not the place for me. I loved the floorplans, they are very unique and rather cute. However there is a flaw in the design, they forgot storage. My apt only has one closet in the bedroom and a small linen closet in the bathroom. If more than one person moves in I dont know what they will do. I also had a problem with ants, I could not keep anything sweet sitting on my kitchen counter, because when you came back it was covered in ants. I had problems with my toilet, it would just completely stop up and overflow for no good reason. I had problems with the parking lot, there more holes in it than swiss cheese. All summer long I complained about my air conditioning, my bedroom never got below 85, and I would leave my air for days and it would still be incredibly hot. I had problems with my nieghbors, they were loud, rude and disrespectful and nothing would be done about it. I found that the complex bragged about not allowing people to keep junk and mess on there patios, but yet if you walk around you would see clothes lines, pool toys and just about anything else you could think of. I found the complex to be a little to family friendly, I dont have a problem with kids, but the kids that live here are loud, bad and desctructive. I have seen kids with my own eyes climb onto someone elses patio and take things that dont belong to them. Not to mention that the entrance of the apt is a bus stop, so kids were always in the way when you are trying to go to work. I felt that I was misconceived about the construction of the complex. I thought they were very nice but my apt was painted badly and niether of my bathroom doors close all the way, the apt above mine sprung a leak and I had a brown spot over my bed for almost 3 months. I dont know if I am the only who experienced high water bills, I was told when I moved in that my water bill would be between $18 and $23, but in my last couple of months my bill has been $30, and I dont even use my dishwasher. If I didnt have 3 months left on my lease I would just break my lease and move. I lived by the pool and the light on th building went out, that was back in May and it still not fixed although several people hav mentioned that it should be replaced. It is a bit scary to come home at night and be able to see your way through the parking lot. Like I said in the beginning its not a bad place to live, but be very cautious and aware before signing the lease. These apts seem nice but after second glance they are extremely ghetto.
