Laurels Of Sendera formerly Savannah Club Apartments

I am resident at the Laurels and have never seen a staff that is less caring then the ones we have now, with the exception of the maintenance crew. I have been at the pool when the so called drunks are there; it's just a group of residence having a good time. I have never been out there when people were causing trouble or someone had to be detand by the police for being unruly. In fact, I would rather the residance get to know one another simply for the fact that if you ever needed help, someone would be there. I can remeber a time when one of the residence was mugged in the parking lot in October of 2004 and three other residence came to her rescue because they heard her yelling for help. In fact, I believe they all knew each other from HANGING OUT AT THE POOL the previous summer. Imagine that...
I hear alot of talk about Connie (the manager) wanting this to be a family place. In reality what kind of families can possibly live in a one to two bedroom apartment' Usaully it will be single parents with children, college students, or single working adults. To be honest I have on many occasions been woken up by four to five kids running the apartment complex at between 11pm and 1am. Where are their parents' As a single parent, I want to know my fellow residence simply because we all watch out for one another and one another's children. It makes me feel more comfortable that someone I know (that I have meet at the pool) has come to me (from across the apartment complex) to tell me do you know what your child was doing or I talked to such and such and they saw a suspicious character last night so be careful when going to your car.
And safety... We really have none. Our security officer is only good for locking the pools at night. I don't believe anyone has ever even meet him. The whole point of community policing is to know your community!!! Or did they miss that in his policing course' I feel that the securtiy officer needs to be someone who does not live in the jurisdiction in which he resides. Simply for the fact that he can get to know the reisdence but still have arrest powers if he needs to use them. Did I mention I have never seen anyone at the POOL get arrested for any VIOLATION.
And the pool rules have absolutely gotten out of control. No radios or drinking allowed at the pool. REALLY' I know that not every one has the same taste in music but if it is at a reasonable volume radios should be fine. And the drinking, like I have stated time and time again I have not seen anyone get so out of control that the police have had to come out. In fact I have on many occasions seen an one or two officers stop by the pool to check out the volleyball game going on and those "DRUNK PEOPLE" do nothing but offer them a bottle of water because of the blistering heat. What crapy residence!!! RIGHT!!!
