Terrible Service, then after moving out they threaten your credit''

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
Lived here for 3 years, moved out 7/2007. I'm getting calls at work from Legacy Point employees threatening to screw up my credit if I don't pay them $480 to replace the carpet in my old apartment. For one, the carpet was old when I moved in (I frequently found dog food in my vacuum cleaner even though I never had a dog). The carpet did get worse during my stay, but this was due to the following two things: (1) the apartment above me flooded and my floor was underwater for a couple days and (2) when they fixed my dishwasher they hooked it up incorrectly and it flooded my apt again for a second time. After these two floods my carpet turned from an off-white color to an off-brown color. Not only did they not replace it for me at this point, but now they are asking me to pay to have it replaced for the next tenant. If anything, I feel like I should be billing them for my two $200 paintings that got screwed up when the apt above me flooded.
As others have commented, I too had very large electric bills. Even though I was the only person in the apartment, my bills were more than double (and sometimes triple) my friends that have houses with much more square footage.
Soundproofing is not too good either. I could hear all my neighbors as if they were in my apartment.
