Northwood Place is a great place to live. I am very impressed by management, maintenance and the condition of the property. The area is very safe with one of the best parks in the metroplex across the street. Shopping, schools, access to freeways and the TRE are all there. The prices are very reasonable. I looked for a long time for an apartment in this area. I love it here. I am sad that my job is relocating me to Houston, but I will definitely look for one of their properties in H-town.
Management really cares and is so friendly. They have lots of events and activities for individuals and families. Maintenance is awesome. I called in my AC problem and the technician was out within an hour, working in the dark. I slept in comfort that night. That was after they knew I was moving out! The grounds are absolutely beautiful with lush landscaping and plenty of parking. The pool is clean and wonderful, with a nice little waterfall. The fitness center is nice, but could use some attention.
Search the city of Arlington's website for crime stats and you will find that there really is not much going on here, crime-wise. Closer to Lamer Blvd, maybe.
I am an avid cyclist, and moving from my former residence by White Rock Lake was difficult. I knew that I wanted to live near a bicycle trail. Wow! There are two cement trails and a wonderful multi-use hike-bike dirt trail that has family friendly loops and technical challenges. Beyond bicycling, River Legacy Park is a large, beautiful park to go Barbeque or walk. There is a Living Science Center adjacent to the park that is great. Between Kroger, Tom Thumb, Albertsons and Whole Foods, there is a wide choice for groceries and there are dozens of good restaurants close by. If eating is not on your mind, you might pop in to the Ballpark, Cowboy Stadium or Lone Star Horse Racing for some spectator sports. Of course that local college and Hospital are supurb, too. Jump on I30 or 183 or ride the Trinity Railway Express for a quick trip to Dallas or Fort Worth.
I am paying $0.80 per square foot for my place. Try getting that with all these amenities anywhere. There are some added utilities. I like a central water heater, though. One, thing, the cable is not free. It is mandatory, so, if you don't watch TV, you may not want to pay $33/month for Time Warner extended basic. It is cheaper, but soon there will be lots of digital broadcast channels available.
Residents here are a friendly, diverse community of students, workers, families, retirees and are usually polite and respectful. Many have pets and are good about cleaning up after them. There is an elementary school around the corner and a High School a little further up the road.
You just can't go wrong moving here. If I am ever lucky enough to move back to the area, I will look here first.
