I thought it was okay--Would live there again.

I lived at Oak Forest for a year an a half, and I have to say that I enjoyed my time living there. I was attracted to the low rent, and the studio apartment. It's the biggest studio in the area. There aren't a lot of amenities, but I wasn't really looking for them either.

All and all I think it was an average experience. My apartment backed up to the "woods" so I did have issues with bugs. I'm a pretty clean person and I'd have a roach experience probably once every two weeks. I hated it, but there wasn't much I could do about it.

The noise was a problem. I could hear everything my upstairs neighbor did or said, and they kept odd hours. I don't know if you can blame that on the leasing staff though, really I think they were just cheaply constructed apartments. I did have new carpet put in prior to my move in, and the walls were painted with a warm beige instead of a stark white. It made it a little more homey for me. I had good relationships with my neighbors. Parking could be an issue at night.

I had a personal issues with one of the leasing agents, she was impossible to deal with but with the new management company she was no longer employed there. I didn't really have to deal with the new management company much, I moved out shortly after they took over.

Water and Trash, which is added to the price of your rent was reasonable. They only charge for hot water. Electric during the summer could be rough. My unit had a programmable thermostat for the ac which was really nice. I always felt safe there and I'm a single white female. I had a good relationship with the property manager and I would say that if I were in a pinch I'd live there again. It's just a short drive to shopping, restaurants, bars, and grocery stores.

I will complain about the increase in rent when you renew your lease. Mine went from a very affordable $412 to a whopping $550. I complained to the corporate office three or four times and finally got them down to $500. But beware, they will charge you a fee for renting for only six months versus a year, even though they offer that lease term. I thought that was kinda shady. I would have argued that with them as well, but by that time I was through arguing.

Average experience.......I've had much worse, and I've had better. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
