I have lived here for a few years now. It has been a great place to live, until now. I go to the office and I see Bible quotes, I see Jesus screensavers. Is this management's personal property' I have tried to talk with management and my opinion is that, she is only advertising. There is also a place for religion and an office property is not it. I recomended this place to an aquaintance. She and her husband were in the office on Thursday, upon seeing the "religious office", they decided against it. I have contacted the main office and it should be taken care of soon.

You are truly an evil and sad person, and so are the people you recommended. If that stopped them from deciding to reside at that property, and they truly liked it, then they are just as disturbed as you. This country is built on the concept of free speech, of which that employee, unless directed otherwise by her employer, has a right to shout from the mountaintops her love for Jesus Christ. I normally do not respond to these types of things, but your's struck me at the very core of my soul which compelled me to do just as you did...express my opinion...after all, as I stated earlier, that is both your and my right as Americans...an moreso mine as a Christian. GOD Bless you, in spite of YOU!

-"this country was built on the concept of free speech"
That is exactly right.There is but one problem, you are placing virtue in the freedom to express love for your christian god; at the same time you express this malicious contempt for the adverse point of view. An evil and sad person? Evil & sad for exercising a right to express a personal ideology? That is exactly what the management was doing. What if you were to go to an office at a apartment you reside and you were to see flyers advocating aethism?
You are more than free to express those christian ideals but how can you be so condescending toward someones character based on their freedom to show theirs?
I doubt you are as pious as you make yourself out to be.
As Nietzsche once wrote;
-"The only true christian died on the cross"

Can I just applaud this review? It is not the ideal that Christianity itself is being represented in this environment. The principle of the matter is that religion is always being shoved down someone's throat. What if the renters inquiring to the place are Jewish or Buddhist, or maybe believe in God but despise "organized" religion. Apartments are a professional environment. It has been my experience that those who do not flaunt their religion are the most open minded and kindest people I have met. Being a bisexual woman who used to live with her girlfriend for a year, I would not have wanted help from those apartments either. Do you know how uncomfortable it is to ask for a one bedroom with two women as it is without someone's condescending views staring at you from a desk?
And religion is not a hushed subject..it is everywhere...schools, girl scouts, TV, movies...even children's movies!!!...and it is the strict ruling of a scared people who teach prejudice and racism and narrow mindedness...there is a place to be expressive...and there is a place to be neutral and professional...educated people know the difference...

A note to jooob1...you may have just given extra weight to all the negative stereotypes that people have of christians and christianity.

I cannot believe that this persons only complaint is the religious stuff. Satan has people fooled and those that get upset about these things are so caught up with personal convictions that have nothing to do with life and what really matters in this world. Satan uses people like this to turn people away from what is important, Worshiping God!!!!!!!!!! and praying for those who do complaint about Religious things.

as a follower of Christ, it is sad to see how 'christians' are attacking him. i don't agree with his opinion but i'm not surprised. what surprises me is the way 'believers' are attacking him! my goodness, we act as if we are perfect and are just so appalled at the idea of someone not wanting to see a Jesus screensaver...i understand your frustrations but we are supposed to approach and address everyone with love...not just fellow 'christians'. so to mrstop and anyone else offended by some of these responses i apologize. i think the misunderstanding here is that as believers, we are biblically required to live out our faith in all that we do..this includes work. We believe that God is not just a sunday God and should be acknowledged everyday of the week. because we are all individuals, we address this requirement in personal ways..some read their bibles during breaks, some pray at lunch, some listen to praise and worship music etc. i don't think the screensaver was directed to the tenants (since i doubt anyone's gotten saved off a screensaver) but it was probably for the agent herself who wanted a way to remind her of her faith...now we can debate the effectiveness or relevance of a screensaver but our walk is personal and ppl should do what they feel works for them. as for free speech, it is true that ppl should be allowed to express their disdain for Jesus paraphanalia and christians, muslims, buddhists etc. should be allowed to express their beliefs.

jenalves - very well said - we may not agree with others opinions, but it is their right. Just like it is our right to express our views of our faith with the same freedom of speech intent - nuff said
