WORST Apartments EVER!

This is truly the worst apartment complex I have EVER lived in and I have lived in a variety of places. The girls who show the apartments are very friendly & helpful. The apartment model looks very nice & up to date. Once we got approved/signed up, we found that our apartment is furnished with a leaky dishwasher in what appears to be, a 70's model, as well as the fridge. The post on our balcony is made of rotting wood, which the apartments promised to replace, the day we got our keys. It's 6 months later & nothing has been done. Our livingroom ceiling leaks directly onto our couch. We've called several times for this also and have been assured each time that "the problem is fixed." I say this as I look at my sinking ceiling now! A few times my front door key would not let me lock or unlock the door. Our mailbox has been broken into TWICE, again, this does not seem to be a concern to the maintenance office. Oh, did I mention that the people you call about your problems/concerns are not those nice ladies that signed us up for our apartment! No, this is left up to another office full of incompetent people who you MUST call DAILY and repeat the same thing many, many times before they even begin to understand what they need to do to help you. Oh, and this does NOT mean they are going to correct the problem, just that they FINALLY understand the problem, you will probably have to continue calling to get it addressed! They informed us that our mailbox was never fixed properly because we did not call every day until it was done, we did do this to get them to make the ceiling stop dripping, 1st & 2nd time. Their answer to my husband's frustration (for wanting a secure mailbox) was "do you just want to move out then'" Which, of course we'd love to do, but are in a lease & we are concerned about any mail/bills/credit card #'s that may be in jeopardy, so we must stick around to make sure everything is ok. In addtion to all of these problems, if you move here, you can look forward to trash everywhere as it seems the lazy tenants are allowed to just toss garbage anywhere they like. (the apts. answer: some poor little guy comes around the dumpster evry morning to clean up what he can, otherwise it's everywhere). You will have constant promises of things being fixed or that they will call you back "asap" or that they'll be "right on the problem." Then, 6 months later, they'll yell at you for not reminding them every day that you have a problem. I am truly sick to my stomach that I ever decided to live here!!
New Development: they gave us copies of our old keys to the same old lock on our newly broken into mailbox!!!

I agree completely I had the same issue with a leaking window and we had to threaten to call health services
