I lived here for over a year. Soon after moving in, I discovered that I shared a wall with a long-time chainsmoker. I, who am allergic to cigarette smoke, put in maintenance request after maintenance request to have the apt. sealed off, etc. To be honest, the maintenance men were very helpful, but there was only so much they could do. Also, my car was broken into and cd?s/stereo were stolen. The manager?s response: "Did you leave it unlocked'" After many months of constant smoke-induced sinus infections, I was ?allowed? to move to a different apartment. I enjoyed my quiet neighbors, except for the loud frat parties that took place across the way. (To be fair, the cops came, and the mgt. put letters on the guys? doors.) This apartment was great..except for when my car got stolen out of my parking spot. I had just signed my renewal lease, and wanted out of it. (Especially after I checked Arlington PD?s website and saw the huge number of car thefts & burlaries from the complex.) The management wasn?t the most helpful until I began discussing a lawyer. Then I was allowed to put in 30-days notice and pay month-to-month until the 30 days were up. Overall, I was happy with the complex...VaSean, Kathy and Rosie were great (very easy to deal with if you?re keeping up your end of the bargain.) but I felt I needed to move somewhere cheaper (with the onset of the car payment thanks to the other one, with no payment, getting stolen) and safer. Like my title says...there are some positives, and some negatives.
