I have lived here for 4 years. When I moved in it was by far not the greatest apartment but the rent was cheap and its close to campus. They are no longer cheap and have gotten considerably worse. First they have jacked the rent to over $500 for a loft apartment that has the original counters,cabinets,sinks etc from when they were built over fourty years ago. They charge you sperately for water and now electric which comes out to over $150 per month. The bill is not from and electric company, its from the management company. You have no control over the AC, it is one unit for the whole complex. I often woke up at 6AM to find it over 90 degrees in my apartment. They said they shut it off to same money but my bill was still the same. Even when the A/C is on it barely works. Nothing is this place works. I spent two weeks this last winter with no hot water. I spent 6 weeks this summer with no A/C and now I have been living the last two weeks without gas. Its hard to cook on a gas stove without gas and of course the water heater that supplies the whole building runs on gas, so again no hot water. Add in the trashy neighbors that leave beer can all over the complex and having my car broken into three times, it is not worth it. I turned in my moveout notice six weeks ago. When the new apartments called to verify my rental history, they said they never received my moveout notice and refused to verify me. I have lived in some crappy apartments but this is by far the worst. Do not rent here no matter what! There are better and cheaper apartments all around campus.
