I lived in this apartment complex for 18 months. I liked the aparments' spaceous the floorplan. However, I was newly separated mother of 2 and I did experience some financial difficulties. To make a long story short, the apartment manager nor the corp office was never willing to work with me. My rent was $700 per/mo, but after late charges and eviction fees (which I was informed would be filed regardless of any arrangement made with management)I ended up paying approx. $1100 a few times. One time I called to find out how much I owned on the 10th and the eviction fee was added before it was even filed. Another time I was quoted a $50 eviction fee added to my rent, so I pay; then I recieve a note on my door stating that I still had an outstanding balance. I call the office, and was informed that I was misquoted by a temp in the office, but they would go ahead and waive the outstanding balance. I get paid twice per month, so those few times that I was unable to pay rent on the 1st, management was well aware that I would pay between the 11th & 15th. Needless to say I was on a tight budget, and paying $300 to $400 extra sent my budget on a downward spiral.
I had to call the corporate office several times in addition to writing a couple of letters. Although I always recieved a responce, I believe that it was just to pacify me.
Now "I am finally back on my feet financially and don't have to worry about paying my rent late, but even if I did, I now live in a complex where management is more than will to work with me if I do have a financial crunch.
Oh, and just to note, I lived in a prior complex in Ft Worth for 7 years and always paid rent on time and had managment willing to work with me with any concern that I had. So, I am not, by any means knocking River Ridge for my sole experience, I just feel that they are not luxury apartments, therefore, they should be alittle more willing to work with their tenants during times of financial strains. As stated, I am now a single mom and I couldn't continue to give all of my extra money to River Ridge.
Now there were many other issues, but not to mention.
A spacious apartment is not worth all of my money, because sometimes things do just happen.

I think hard working people, such as myself, are never "unwilling" to pay monthly obligtions. With todays current economy, for people who are not financially wealthy, it can, at times,be difficult to cover all expenses. And if you are not a single parent, possibly surviving one income, you may not be able to relate or understand. Texas apartment rents are expensive, period; no matter where you are. And not everyone desires to live in the ghetto just to save a buck! Bottom line, apartment management can do what they want to do, when they want to do it. It's not charity, it's a matter of understanding and a little compassion...
