This has to be the worst place I have ever lived. The management company, Devonshire Realty and Asseet Management must be the cheapest company the owners could find to try to run this place. These people have no idea how to deal with tenants. They seem to forget they are there to SERVE the people who live there. Without tenants, they would not have a job. They think they are the gestapo. Everyone who lived here long term is leaving. One 15 years, one 20, our neighbor 9 years, moved out one month before us, we lived there 7 years. They don't care for the health or welfare of the tenants. Dont rent in the quad mentioned!! They women in 152 sre heavy smokers and chain smokers and it goes through the air/heat and destroys the other apartments. 251 moved out for the same reason we did. The STINK of the smoking.
PLUS they are running an illegal daycare center in 152. It is illegal to run a child care service in an apartment in Tarrant County. Look at your lease. But Devonshire looks the other way. These poor kids are exposed daily to the smoke and they are breaking every code in the book. They spray them down with Febreeze before they send them home, like that would fool anybody. We watched numbers from 6 to 17 at a time in that daycare (MS. PAT"S DAYCARE, PICKUP AND DROPOFF) yet they say they are not a daycare when it says so on their van. Which is not code for transporting children.. I watched children screaming not to have to go into that apartment everyday. ANd we lived over it. Arlington requires 30 square feet per child just for recreation and this is a 850 foot apartment. So if you want to live above or next to children screaming and crying, constant traffic dropping off and picking up, and die of smoke inhalation, by all means, move in. But there are better choices. We found out we could get 1200 square feet for the same rent and a beautiful place to live, not the hovel that River Ridge has turned into. Thank GOD we had counsel and other property management professionals ( not that they are professional in anyway) look at our lease and we found that it was not valid and we had been living without one. So we invalidated it according to law and moved out. Beware, when you see all the long time tenants leaving the place like rats on a sinking ship, that should tell you something. And DON"T MOVE THERE IF YOU ARE HANDICAPPED. They have a propensity to discriminate, violate civil rights, and will literally spit in your face if you try to use ADA, the fair housing act or Hud. Please head my warning. You do not want to live here!!!! THe safety lighting is a joke, there are tons of vandalism incidents taking place, and a woman cannot feel safe in the daytime in her apartment. And the word heard most in the parking lot and courtyard'
"Motherf****r". Don't do it, please don't do it. There are so many other places to live where they treat you right, maintenance actually knows what they are doing and you can enjoy your HOME. Yes, they don't consider it your HOME. They feel they can walk in your apartment anytime they want. And it happened to me several times with maintenance. They don't announce themselves and just key the lock while I am standing there in a state of undress, in once case, just my panties. Twice I was home near the end and someone from the office just walked in the apartment. These are not your homes to them. So Be Careful. Be Safe. Walk Away. Go somewhere else safe and quiet. Don't put yourself through what we did for 7 years. It was not so bad when Lumacorp managed it but the bottom dropped out with these new people. They have no heart and soul. DON"T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This women is CRAZY....Crazy...The childcare run that apartment is exceptional..its not a daycare it is a single older loving women helping to care for children of single parents. At NO TIME does she smoke around the children...The Grelle's are mental and need to be in a hospital. They throw white paint on other residents cars, Mrs. Grelle claims she is handicapp..but yet she can run up and down stairs to complain about the wind blowing...

Well it seems that this person is afraid to use their name when they have no compunction to use ours. THe childcare IS a daycare. Their van says DAYCARE right on it. THe traffic in and out from 6 am till sometimes 11 at night was terribly bothersome. And because we were making it known that the lease says it is illegal, she called the police on us and they told us that we were accused of being child molesters because I was outside saying goodbye to the mail man and taking his picture and also pictures of the cememnt steps which had wet footprints on them since someone entered my apartment with a key without knocking or announcing themselves and I was in my pajamas and didn't appreciate it. They thought it was a frivoulus call, to tie up two officers for that, especially when I gave them my camera and they perused the photos. I also gave them a written statement as to what was going on which I had composed before they arrived. I don't think that she realized that I was a Sergeant in the Department of Public Safety, Massacussetts and was a cop for 11 years, you know, the blue brotherhood. They were not happy with the crank call and they could see we were busy moving. Anyway, anything to harrass us.She does smoke around the children, I have seen it myself and so did the Texas Department of Adult Disabilities Services. I ended up hospitalized due to the outpouring of smoke into our apartment. I had to move into a hotel afterward until we could move. As for the paint incident. I hope you have proof of the claim of vandalism against my husband for you have slandered him in print and that is a big legal NO NO. In fact, I said to you myself, Oh its too bad about your car, its just so pretty. My husband heard someone outside making noise and he went out and found that vandals had thrown white paint on 151's car. They also threw it on another lady's car further down. He was kind enough to knock on 151 door and tell her that someone had thrown paint on her car and she should take it to a car wash right away before it hardened, which she did and she even thanked him for his help. He also walked down to the other apartment and told that residnet the same thing. She thanked him and sped off to the car wash and was able to remove the paint. If it was believed that we vandalized their cars, then why did they not call the police. I was in bed at that time and my husband was cleaning up the kitchen. As for my disability, I find it cruel and heartless to attack a disabled person, especially when you don't know what you are talking about. That could be construed as libel/slander also. I am certified disabled, they know I walk with a cane and as a former police officer, whose job it was to protect and serve even those who spit on me, it hurts to know I will never work again because I BROKE MY BACK. And for Ms Anonymous information, I had major surgery again September 10, 2007 (I have lost count over the last 12 years). I was in hospital for a week and had to learn to walk all over again and went home with a walker. It is just now I am learning to walk with a cane again. If she wants proof I will send her a copy of the exray of my back and spine. AFTER 12 YEARS OF CHRONIC PAIN AND PAIN MEDICATION, AND BECOMEING BROKE PAYING FOR DOCTORS AND MEDICATION, MY NEW SURGERON FOUND THIS WHEN HE WENT INSIDE MY BACK IN WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A 2 HOUR SURGERY THAT LASTED 12. THIS IS AFTER MORE MYLOGRAMS, EMG'S AND NERVE ROOT INJECTIONS. HE FOUND 2 (two) CRUSHED NERVES in L4 BILATERALLY AND L5 BILATERALLY. CRUSHED, when I heard that I cried. THIS IS WHAT WAS CAUSING MY LEGS TO HURT SO BAD, TO HAVE TO WALK WITH A CANE DUE TO NERVE DAMAGE, PERMANENT, AND WHY I FELL SO MANY TIMES. IN FACT I STILL FALL. THIS IS DUE TO SPINAL STENOSIS. THEN HE FOUND 2 MORE RUPTERED DISCS AND HE REPAIRED THEM. THIS LEAVES ME WITH NO LUMBAR SPINE AT ALL. MY OSTEOPEROSIS CAUSED 10 MIN JOBS TO ATTACH SCREWS INTO 40 MIN EACH. THIS LEAVES ME WITH 6 (6) FUSIONS. THAT MEANS MY LUMBAR SPINE SHOULD be SOLID UNMOVEABLE BONE HOPEFULLY IN ANOTHER YEAR. I WILL ALWAYS BE IN PAIN. RIGHT NOW IT IS HELD TOGETHER WITH RODS AND PINS AND SCREWS AND CAGES. MY TOP LUMBAR VERTABRAE IS ATTACED TO MY SACRAL VERTABRAE IN ONE LONG PIECE WITH A PIECE OF STAINLESS STEEL SCREWED INTO EACH ONE ON THE WAY DOWN. I CAME HOME AND SLEPT IN A HOSPITAL BED FOR THREE MONTHS IN MY LIVING ROOM. MY HUSBAND HAD TO TAKE FAMILY LEAVE TO CARE FOR ME. I CANNOT LIFT ANYTHING EVER, OR BEND, OR TWIST AND I CAN ONLY SIT FOR 20 MIN INTERVALS. AND AFTER THE SURGICAL PAIN LEFT ME AND THE 54 STAPLES WERE GONE, I WAS STILL IN PAIN SO MORE TESTS AND IN FEBRUARY 2008 I HAD A RHIZOToMY. THE WENT INTO THE SACRAL ILLIAC JOINT ON MY LEFT SIDE AND BURNED THE NERVE ROOTS SO MY BRAIN WILL NOT FEEL THE PAIN. THIS HAS TO BE DONE EVERY 6 MONTHS. NOW I AM SUFFERING FROM SEVERE MUSCLE SPASMS IN MY BACK AND AM HEADED FOR SURGERY TO ACTUALLY REMOVE THE OFFENDING MUSCLE. DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A NON HANDICAPPED PERSON TO YOU? I SPEND EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE FOR THE LAST 12 YEARS IN CHRONIC PAIN AND ON ENOUGH PAINKILLERS THAT EVEN ONE WOULD PUT YOU IN A COMA. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE MY HANDICAP. YOU ARE SOME OF THE CRUELEST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET AND I HAVE MET SOME DOOZIES. TO ATTACK MY HANDICAP, SOMETHING I MUST LIVE WITH EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE FOREVER AND HAVE TO TAKE MORPHINE FOR EVERYDAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. YOU SAW THE HANDICAP CAR SIGN IN OUR CAR. DO YOU THINK THE STATE OF TEXAS JUST HANDS THOSE OUT WITHOUT CONSULTING WITH YOUR DOCTORS? AND I NEVER RAN UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS. I AM INCAPABLE OF RUNNING. YOU ALL WATCHED ME GO UP AND DOWN THOSE STAIRS IN SLOW MOTION THE WAY I WAS TAUGHT IN PHYSICAL THERAPY. ONE STEP AT A TIME WITH BOTH FEET. YOU WATCHED ME WALK UP THOSE STAIRS DRAGGING MY LEFT LEG BEHIND ME BECAUSE I COULD NOT LIFT IT. AND I SPENT 80% OF MY TIME IN BED, THANK GOD I AM DOWN TO 50% NOW. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE WIND BLOWING HAS TO DO WITH ANYTHING. I KNOW IT BOTHERED SOME PEOPLE THAT ON NICE DAYS WHEN I FELT UP TO IT, I WOULD SIT ON THE STAIRS AND READ AND ENJOY THE SUN. SOMEDAY, YOU TOO WILL FIND YOURSELF HURT BADLY OR TERRIBLE SICK AND YOU WILL FIND OUT ABOUT PAIN AND BEING DISABLED. You know what? The gentleman next door to us for 9 years moved out because of your smoking. I feel bad for you that you cannot quit and I hope you don't get lung cancer, I truly do. I would not wish that on anyone. And as for being in the hospital, gee, I was! Your smoking put me there. I have asthma and my home was full of your smoke. Luckily I was able to call my husband before I passed out and he and EMS arrived at the same time. I was dead for two minutes in respitory arrest. They had to get me breathing again before they could transport me. And again no sympathy from your direction. By the way, calling my husband and myself crazy could be construed as libel/slander, especially when we have every bit of proof, from the town, the county, the state, the hospital, my doctors, OUR LAWYERS and the Texas Adult Services who came to our apt and advised us to move. So, watch what you say and write slandering us, because we do have several lawyers involved in this pro bono. Oh, and take a gander at the magazine called UNITS, for the National Apartment Owneres Association. Page 27 has a great article on what happened last April and they used our names, too. Not yours, as not to cause libel/slander to you. At least we can back up what we have to say. You knew I was handicapped before you moved in under us. We were there first and you could have come and talked to us at any time to see if your business was going to bother, since I did need to sleep a lot during the day and still due and could have found out it was a hardship on my brittle asthma to be exposed to second hand smoke. You might have made a different decision. And as for my husband, he is the sweetest kindest most honest and caring person and he is also a gentleman to the bone. He did not have to get dressed and come out to tell you what we heard and then saw. He could have just come to bed. BUt he is a gentleman and he was concerned that if it was oil base paint you would never get it off either of your beautiful vehicles. So, please stop slandering his good name. He takes it in stride, but I love him way to much to see him belitted and accused of something he did not do. And next time leave your name. It just might make what you have to say more palatable. I find it deeply disturbing that Mrs. Grelle has provided such a lengthy recitation of her medical history on a website dedicated to apartment ratings. I am not sure what Mrs. Grelle is trying to prove: Is she seeking sympathy from strangers who are solely interested in obtaining more information about a prospective home? If so, she succeeded in evoking my concern, but that concern is for her mental stability - I sincerely hope that she seeks help from a psychological, as opposed to a physical, therapist.
