My husband and I moved here 6 months ago--it is our first home together :) we couldn't be happier!! I understand that the management was pretty bad before, but a new manager came in around the same time we moved in, and she is awesome! They got rid of a girl that had been very rude to my pregnant sister-in-law and us, and everyone on the staff now is very kind, considerate, and helpful. They are friendly and actively try to make sure you are happy living here. The head maintenance is the most cheerful guy you will ever meet. We have had several major and minor repairs, and it has all be taken care of the day we turn in the request (even a new water heater). We've also turned in one neighbor complaint, and it was also taken care of that day and hasn't been a problem since.

We've never had a problem with pests, noisy neighbors, finding parking, or other things that make you hate apartment life. The ONLY thing I wish were different is that there are two large dogs in the building next to us that bark ALL day long (but thankfully, not at night), but that is something you have to deal with in any complex...

I would HIGHLY recommend this apartment!!

I must agree that the lady that was the previous manager was a bit rude. Unfortunately she was just a "green" manager who shouldn't have been put in the position in the first place. She had never managed before. Heck she was the bookkeeper for the property before they made her manager out of despiration because the manager before her was stolen away by another management company. She could have been good at her job had AIMCO bothered to give the poor gal some management training. But they didn't and I guess that shows just how much AIMCO really cares about its residents. Put someone who doesn't know what she is doing into the job and then offer no assistance. I am speaking of the manager who was in charge for 7 months before the current mgr, not the gal that AIMCO hired for 3 weeks just to be able to fire the other gal while waiting for this "seasoned" AIMCO professional lier to take over. I do agree that the 3 week gal was very rude but AIMCO brought her in to do their dirty work and then let her go without warning. I bet that put a cramp in thats gals ability to pay her bills but I know AIMCO doesn't really give a hoot. Parking one the south side of the property is no problem but the parking on the North side is aweful. If you are not in by 10pm you might as well hang it up if you want a place to park. Just put on those hiking boots. I have found that the new maint. staff is forgetful and not prompt. And you must be the only one who doesn't have pest problems as most everyone else on the property does. This place was built on an ant hill (fact: look up the arlington geography at the library or the land and planning commission in downtown arlington)and they come in to the apartments through the pipes anytime they can. No matter how clean you are you will have ants at Riverbend. Oh I guess everywhere but this persons apartment. I have a feeling this person works for Riverbend as well. And trust me Riverbend Village ONLY replaces things when they can no longer bandaid the problem. Heck they should have replaced your water heater as it was probably the original on that was put in when the place was built back in the early 80's. And the only time the Riverbend staff gives a flying flip about you is when you are looking to lease a new apartment or when it is time for your lease renewal. Then you are a top priority for them. Riverbend is not the place to live if you want prompt service, neatly kept grounds and a staff that makes you feel like they appreciate your business year round and not just upon renewal time.

LOL...you must have a lot of free time on your hands, rentershelper! I do, too, fortunately. I can rebuff your rediculous assertions. I do not now nor ever have had ants or a problem with parking, and I live right next to the woods on the far north side of the complex. How lazy are you? There are times I have to walk across the parking lot (a walk of around thirty seconds) rather than parking right under my stairway as usual, but those are few and far between. You hate the place so much that you've gone to the library to research it (you should have picked up a spelling primer while you here there) yet you are still a resident.
