You can have bad experiences anywhere if your expectations are unrealistic. I lived at Riverbend Village for two years and did NOT ever work there. I wish I could pick up the entire complex and move it to Dallas with me. My apartment is simply wonderful. I'm on the 3rd floor surrounded by trees. It's very spacious (over 600 square feet for just me) and I pay only $400 a month for it...there are deals NOWHERE like that! The staff is super sweet and helpful. They have never hesitated to go the extra mile for me...but perhaps that's because I'm a nice person. I've also never once seen a bug in my apartment unless it's a flying insect that has come in from outside when I leave my back door open to my huge patio (as big as my bedroom) which faces the woods. The parking lots have a few issues, but other than that this property is very well maintained and nice.

I agree with you that one can have bad experiences anywhere, but I do not believe that it is unrealistic to want the grounds around you to be clean. I am curious though why you felt the need to say you did NOT work for Riverbend and that you talk about you experience in the past and present tenses. You start off by saying you wish you could take the whole complex with you to Dallas but then turn around and say that your apartment IS simply wonderful, and that you ARE on the 3rd floor. So which is it? Do you NOW or DID YOU at SOMETIME in the past live at Riverbend. Either way did you then or do you now ever look down from your 3rd floor apartment to see all the trash accumulated at the edge of your wooded view? Do you now or have you ever walked the property to see all the trash blowing around because they choose not to move the trash recepticals or employ a porter like other apartment communities do. Or maybe taken a look at the poorly landscaped property towards the back? Have you then or do you now try to use the discusting little place they call a "fitness" facility? Maybe they should have taken some of that money they used to beautify there already nice working area "the office" and spend it on cleaning and updating the "fitness" facility for the paying customers....ya know the tenants. Riverbend COULD BE a nice place to live but it doesn't seem like the current office staff wants to make it a nice place to live. And as for your paying only $400 a month. That must have been way way back in some far away time becuase the rates are not that cheep actually they are rising rediculously high for a place with NO improvements other than those which are enjoyed by those who work here. Examples being..the beautiful landscaping around the office and the complete office renovations. All in all unless you actually walk the entire property on a regular basis as I do, I really don't think you can speak honestly to issues on the property being well maintained and nice. I do agree with you whole heartedly about the apartment layouts being very spacious. But I must emphatically disagree with you on the subjects of the complex as a whole being well maintained. I just say to anyone who considers living at Riverbend, please take the time to talk to residents who have lived here more than 3 months, without the management with you and you will get the true story on this place. Also I will warn you now to beware of those who smile in your face as they may stab you in the back. Translation, get everything said by management staff in writting or on tape as they will tell you one thing and when called on it will say something completely different. So as those Judges on TV say, get it in writting. Oh and by the way, I am an extreemly nice person. I just don't like being mislead or just outright lied to. As they say BUYER BEWARE! Good luck to everyone on your search for a new place to call home.

Actually, I just broke my lease because I'm getting married and moving to Dallas. I talk about my apartment in the past and present because I have lived there for years and only last Saturday moved out. I said I didn't work there because you said that every nice review was from someone who did work there but was pretending that they didn't. And yes, the woods do have some trash, but unless you expect them to hop the fence and clean the woods which belong to the housing development behind us there is not much they can do about it.

But I agree. If you're going to look at RBV, talk to the residents. When I moved out this past weekend I had so many of my neighbors jumping in to help and to say goodbye. RBV is a true community of happy renters. I will miss it greatly.

I think it's pretty sad that you had to go and post the same exact message on every review that has been posted on this site. If you are so unhappy and have been for years why are you still living here, there are about 100 different communities in the area. i have lived at riverbend for 7 months and love it. I've never been treated rudely and the other person is correct if you took the time to get to know everyones names, they would propably take the time to get to know yours. Your talking about get everything put in writing here, it's also about how you choose to hear things. I cant comment on kelly because she's no longer here and i did not know her very well, but i think that pam and leesa are wonderful.
