LOUD MUSIC, NOISE, VIOLENCE, DRUGS and PHAROH ANTS..That's what you'll get when you rent from this complex. MY review is long and detailed, but if you're considering renting from here, take the time to read this, you won't be sorry. My fiance and I moved into Sedona Springs in November of 2006 and when we first moved in we loved it..The apartment was clean and quiet...Then the weekend came...and that's when the problems started...We understand that living in a complex we were going to have to deal with SOME noise from neighbors..but the noise here was just unbearable. Our apartment faced the parking lot and we saw fights,(one of them included the guy that lived next door to us was an alcoholic and was hitting his pregnant girlfriend) and on more than a few occasions the people who lived on the other side of us would have company over and they would party in the parking lot and one night an SUV was parked right under our window with his volume and subwoofer turned up to the point that I was singing along with Anita Baker's song Sweet Love, it wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't from 2am to 4am. The next morning my fiance and I went to file a complaint with the complex manager and she told us from now on to just call the police which is the same thing they told us to do when we were smelling the pot smoke in our apartment from next door. The walls there are paper thin and you can hear everything that goes on in the apartment next to you, At this point after all the noise, and pot smoking these neighbors should've been asked to vacate the premesis. That's just a few of the problems we had.

A few days later my finace and I went to dinner next door at Chili's and when we came back we heard water running in our apartment, when we turned on the light our living room was flooded and there was more water coming in from the apartment upstairs, My finace tried to find a number on the lease to call in case of an emergency and there was not one, so I asked him to go to the office and see if there may have been a number on the door for emergencies, there was not one to be found. By this time our downstairs neighbors had come up to us to ask if we left our water running, we invited them in and they saw that we were in the same situation as they were, finally we got hold of the maintainace people and they came and got hold of the woman upstairs and turned off her hot water tank that had burst. They told us that they would have someone come and look at the carpet. We had to wait up all night for the carpet people to get there, because the company the complex hired couldn't give us a specific time, so we waited up from 10pm until 6am the next morning when they finally showed. A difficult task for my fiance who has seizures due to sleep deprevation and me who was 6 months pregnant and over 35.

The major problem that we had was the Pharoh Ants otherwise known as sugar ants. When we first moved in we noticed the ants, and didn't think anything of it, we had an apartment facing the courtyard and just thought they were coming in from outside. Then we started noticing them in our cereal bowls AFTER we had eaten our cereal. We contacted the office and they had the same problem with the ants there as well, In January they had the exterminator treat the entire building instead of just our apartment. The complex left notes letting us know of the treatment and that the ants should be gone in 3-6 weeks. WRONG!!! There was absolutly no change at all in the problem. Finally after we brought our newborn home from the hospital and they were in his bassinette and they had gotten into his formula in the cupboard we had had enough. We told the complex manager that we were going to have to move due to the ants and she went from being sweet to being not so sweet, even after explaining what had happened with our son. I'm sorry but no one should have to live like that. We're extremely clean people and I was deep cleaning 4 days out of the week in hopes that the amount of ants would lessen.

When we finally vacated our apartment on May 1,2007, and after the manager told us that we would be responsible for two months rent because we didn't give them a 60 day notice before breaking our lease. We got a bill for 2,400 dollars, we called to try to settle the bill they told us what the charges were for. It seems that they charged us to replace the carpet that was brand new when we moved in there, and we were charged for repainting the bedroom because our bedspread dye rubbed off on the walls they paint with cheap flat paint. After reading the lease over again, I couldn't understand why we were charged for those things. The bedroom wall is normal wear and tear on the apartment and the carpet was in the same excellent condition that it was when we moved in. They must have replaced the carpet because of the ant infestation in it and because of the water damage due to the flood from the broken hot water tank. But that was neglegence on the part of the complex, not us. They knew they had a problem with the ants before we moved in, (they had a problem in the front office.)and due to the fact that the carpet people they hired to change the padding didn't finish the job and clean the dining room carpet because the damage "Wasn't noticeable." They let us know that until we pay them they will make sure NO ONE rents to us. So because we don't have the money to take them to court and because we feel that we should only have to pay for the 2 months rent and NOT for the normal wear and tear on the apartment, we are having problems finding a place to live here in Syracuse, NY. No one will rent to us because of the amount that we owe this complex. So at this point we are living with my family, 8 people living in a 3 bedroom house. Thank you Sedona Springs! So if you don't want to find yourself in the same situation that we are in, think twice before renting here.

It's not ridiculous, and I'm assuming that you are anonymous because you are staff (who have been known to write reviews to lie to future renters.) The charges were because we were the victims of water damage to our carpets, and because the complex uses flat pain so that the renters can't clean the wall without taking off paint, the dye from our comforter rubbed off on the wall..(if you read the review you would know exactly what I said and not try to fabricate or twist my facts to your advantage.) The complex is a lipstick property. Slap a coat of paint on it and say it's been remodled. Also, if I were being ridiculous why is almost every single ex tentant or current tenant giving the same reviews (bogus charges, bugs, not feeling safe in the parking lot)? So if you think I went overboard, read the reviews. They speak for themselves. Say what you want to try to change people's minds, but the majority of reviews say "thumbs down and renters beware" for this complex. Maybe your standards aren't as high as most peoples and that's why you like living there (or working there). My hats off to you for being able to either work or live in such horrible conditions. And an update, my wife and I found a beautiful townhouse in DeWitt, NY (an upscale village in Syracuse),we told them of our experience at Sedona and gave them this website and they rented to us based on what others had said about their experiences living there. So if this real estate company leased to us based on Sedona's reviews, how many people do you think have been deterred from moving into the complex. We had a six month lease and we are about to renew it for a year. Just so the mangement and misinformed people who live in Sedona Springs know that we don't normally walk out on our leases. (for the record, we complained to management NUMEROUS times about the things that were wrong and nothing was done about them, that is why we broke our lease), and just so YOU have the facts, if the charges were for breaking the lease they would have been for 3,370 dollars, the remainder of our lease. The complex told us we were charged for them having to replace the carpet and wash and repaint the bedroom wall. (that came to 2,400). We were charged for things that were normal wear and tear and not our fault (the water damage to the carpet.) If you want people to rent from you, maybe you shouldn't try to pick fights with former tenants by posting nasty replys..be smart and post your own review of how wonderful your experience is living in Sedona Springs. That is how you are gonna get more people to live there. Whether you are staff, or someone's future neighbor, this is not the impression you should give to future renters. Have a great day and I'm glad that you are having a positive experience living in Sedona Springs!

This sounds really ridiculous. And since you mentioned that you broke your lease I can imagine that that is what the charges were from. Seems like you went a little overboard.
