I lived at these apartments for 1 year. I am not a big complainer however I had nothing but headaches from these apartments. THe first day I moved in things had to be fixed, which I wouldıve assumed would have already been done given I put down a deposit 30 days prior.

My counter was painted so the first day I moved in I bought groceries and sat bags on the counters and it immediately made stains. This could not be cleaned because instead of getting new countertops they paint over them, and they charge YOU for them when you move out.

My car was broken into 3 times within a 6 month period. That was 3 times I had to replace my window because of this. I understand that crime happens everywhere however, I believed it was someone who was a resident there. Nothing was done about it. Not to mention the 1st time it was done I was told by Ann that 13 cars were broken into as well as mine, and it continued to happen. The 2nd time I was told they would have Arlington Police Dept. drive through occassionally but this never happened. I believe crime in that area is just high. Iıve heard the same about the other apartments.

The gate was always broken, the "courtesy officer" was never seen so I never understood the point of having one.

The one thing I liked about the apartments initially was there was a washer and dryer in every building because I did not have one, however, as someone stated before there were always younger adults sitting on the stairs smoking and throwing trash in the area, after having to walk past this, the washer/dryer was always in use.

There was a HUGE noise problem. I lived on the 2nd floor so i was always careful not to be noisy however, the residents on the 1st floor were noisy as well as the 3rd floor.

The staff SEEMS nice but they really arent, they do not care about anything that goes on and do not in any way try to help. It takes maintenance forever to fix things that you need fixed immediately.

Like Iıve said before, iım not a huge complainer, i can take a little of everything. Iıve lived at a few apartments and have never had as many issues as Iıve had at Southern Hills. I would not recommend you live there unless you donıt plan on being home much. Sorry. Please look around.

Southern Hills is a sorry property...i have been there awhole year and maintenance orders went undone.while my stay at the property i was swindled out of my referal fee, not once but twice on two different occasions. At one point everybody in the office was fired for not doing there jobs and later on the head maintenance guy was fired. But me being there for a year and going into the office numerous times with the same complaint it never got done until the new mananger and maintenance guy were hired.Southern Hills also attempted to make me pay a light bill that was clearly their's for the make ready on my apartment.I recieved to separate bills one stated what amount of kilowatts were used by me and my family from my move in until my lights were transfered to my name 10 days later. They also made a big deal about me paying there half when it was clearly stated on black and white that they gave me their bill along with my ten days worth electricity bill.My car was vandelized there while the two courtesy officers were there.I also spoke with management about this person being on property the threats they made about me and the attack that took place simply because billy the courtesy officers was busy trying to tell somebody to turn music down at 12:00 PM on the 4th july.Shanessa the new manager on the property is a good person but i feel like she makes promises or deals with people but not being able to follow through all the way is a big problem. just like they want to go home at the end of the day not having any hassle about wondering if there landlord is truely going to let them make it and pay their rent a little later than usual because of unprofessionalism on the companies end. Also i was evicted because of that she made me believe i was going to get a referal fee of 350 that she plainly stated i could apply to my rent when it was mailed to me by coporate.the assistant manager tamara is fake and lied in court.there was never a time where they explained to me or the person about the referal fee until it was rightfully time to pay up.they never even filed the referal slip until i confronted them and then they came up with enough b.s. that didnt sound right to me or any human being that dealt wit appartments.the fee changed three different time through the people who are paid to know these thing right off and guess and maybe know.out of three people in the office i got a 500 from the person who signed a lease with my referal, then i got a 250 from the assistant manager, then a 350 from the manager and a i dont know i'll call u back from the coporate female julie who never called back and when i tried to speak with her and let her know the trials and tribulations my family has been through because of a breaker problem that was not adress in a orderly time outrageous light bills were made by this problem also. my family went 7 days there with out no electricity because of this reoccuring problem..the breaker was to small so when i turned anything like washer and dryer or dishwasher or did anything that i pay my rent to do in my apartment it was haulted by a malfunction that was not fixed until april 2006 but i moved in august 1 2005.when i went to court and tried to adress everything it was like the judge was being paid to rule by the apartments or maybe a family member to the owner or something.it was also a issue with a shortage on my range where everytime i cooked i almost pissed my pants and that is no lie.they checked it and said it was fine, but came back later and said it was a shortage and finally fixed it after 8 or 9 months. But i am 1 of 15 other people that were evicted.how many people out there think that 16 people or more something is wrong and i guarantee it aint the tennants..and also they love pulling the electric scam i bet every person over there has had to or been made pay for ther cost of electricity on make ready. the apartment across from has been vacant for maybe going on a month there was no carpet cleaned or any kind of cleaning besides maybe a little painting and touch up here and there..i know for a fact of this that there was a dog there in that apartment for a year that i never saw but heard barking numerous times.. but i am going to say this i may not win court with there judge but when i appeal it is going to be a total different story and manangement will not be able to lie there way out of it...and overall i would rather live in a cardboard box in the middle of 360 then take a chance trying to live at southern hills with the unprofessional management staff and the poor judgement of character of whom ever helps pick the staff and by my judgement of julie and her unconcerned inconsiderate, and down right rudeness it had to been her miss judgement they all seem like they are alike to me so to me she has poor judgement
