We moved into Southern Hills with the intention of trying to save up money for a down payment on a house. We were willing to sacrifice a lot of things for the lower rent.

However, we never anticipated that in a 2 bedroom apartment of about 850 square feet we would see $200 electric bills from June to August.

We never anticipated that when our power went out on a Sunday night from a bad breaker that we would have to wait to see if the breaker would blow AGAIN before it could be replaced. That meant that during to different nights following triple-digit heat days we had to wait with no electricity/ac for an hour or more to get our power turned back on.

We never anticipated that we would never be able to park NEAR our apartment.

Perhaps instead of putting so much of our rent money into having yoga instructors once a week, personal trainers in the "gym" (can you call it that when most of the equipment is broken), they could make sure the buildings aren't falling apart, that the grounds are clean, that the residents feel safe.

The weekend we moved in we received TWO notices from the office about having boxes stacked up outside our apartment. It's 850 square feet...in order to have room to unpack we HAD to put stuff outside and we didn't want to have to walk to the dumpster every time we emptied a box. But, all summer long, when the groups of bored pre-teens sat outside our building on the steps, throwing trash on the ground, shredding the carpet on the landings, and preventing residents from easily getting up the stairs, apparently there was nothing they could do.

We had the exact same experience with the air. and constatley getting nasty messages about blinds being opened ( why put windows in there ), and the balcony is about to fall on the level below, but we are told they can not fix it. Stay away from this place, it will cost you double!!
