This place is awful!

The prices of the washer/dryer in their laundry rooms keep going up, but that's okay because no one will use them due to the green and black mold all over the ceiling and yellowish walls. We live in a one bedroom right next to one of these laundry rooms and last summer nasty water leaked through the walls and drenched the carpet upon which my metal dog crate sat, leaving rust stains which would not come out. I don't doubt that I will be charged for this. I am moving out this month and I am very relieved.

That same summer the ceiling leaked in many places including my closet (nasty water got all over my clothes), a large spot across the corner of the patio door which caused spots of mold to grow, and the worst one on the ceiling between the kitchen & dining room where our previous upstairs neighbors had left the water on. A huge water reservoir grew to the size of two basketballs and dripped everywhere, even filling up the kitchen light with horrid brackish toilet smelling water. Maintenance simply drained it into a bucket, ripped off the part of ceiling left hanging off and spackled white paint to cover it up offering no solution to the leaky unit.

The microwave hasn't worked in months despite numerous requests for it to be repaired. We've given up on pursuing it. The dishwasher wasn't working but we hassled them until it was fixed.
The door to the pantry knocked off the hinges after regular, unaggressive use.

Good luck finding parking after dark and make sure your car doesn't get towed if your inspection sticker is a month late. They just yesterday finally started closing their gates.
Trash everywhere, absolutely HORRIBLE uneven roads that are dangerous to your tires and potholes everywhere.

There is new management though and the staff is a lot nicer than the last but they seem inexperienced. They did redo most of the balconies but about a month ago someone knocked over and broke the concrete Southern Hills sign in the front and they took like 5 days to actually remove the unsightly broken off pieces and another three or so weeks to put up a new one. They had a little red plastic sign with 'Southern Hills' written on it. Ghetto.

Insulation is awful, elec. bills sky high. Water bills going up. You can hear the water pipes run loudly when your neighbors shower, and hear them walk or watch TV through the thin walls and creaky roof.

The lights in front of the apartment front doors never work and it takes days for them to fix, then just goes out again. Not safe at all. We have to turn on the moldy laundry room's light and open the door wide just to make sure there are no thieves lurking in the shadows or to find the door key.

Over all this place is just plain trouble. If you want peace of mind look elsewhere.
STAY AWAY.

Also we JUST NOW removed the washer/dryer we had in the patio only to find a huge amount of even more black mold behind our washer!!! EWWW We are definitely reporting this. Serious health hazard.

Well I am here to tell you now that you have moved I hope that you have not broke your lease cause they will over charge you by 10 times the amount and they do rip you off I use to live there and at first I like it there but I had to move behoned my control. then I was told that I left my apartment in a mess and I no that was not true. while I lived there they changed hands twice. I think that place is over rated .

I just don't understand you people. How can you be so hateful and disgusting towards the apartment complex. I think your problem is that you are very jeleous and of course pay your rent on time and that way the property will have enough money to spend on your potholes, signs and everything else. You have to look at what you are doing wrong first you hateful people disgust me.

How is that even relevant to the original post ? if you are an employee of the place (which by your phrasing im sure you are) you are trying to scambait people for example if you would fix the damned apartments and kick out all the scum that lives there (yes drug dealers , thieves i am talking to you) and there are alot of them there then you would have time to fix the problems with your facility i think its funny how you can sit here and complain about your tenants when if you would fix the ------- problem there would not be any complaints slumlord scum , do not rent here i can guarantee you that the guy that rents the place would not under any circumstances live here this is the worst place i have ever lived and i have lived in much worse neighborhoods shoddy management that does not want to accept responsibility for there facilities scum
