I wrote the review for the place on 6/05. Let me just say that even though the staff seems helpful at first, they "forget" to put in work orders. We were slapped with a "pest control treatment" charge when we moved out despite notes and calls that our apartment would get infested every time someone around us moved out. We are STILL see a small number of bugs in the new place but Im convinced that Springfield has a MAJOR pest problem and it will not matter how clean you are...they get into the stove and the garbage disposal! I even found bugs in the freezer of our fridge. Also, its true about the hords of kiddos roaming around at all hours of the night. Their parents do not give a damn. Its sad but I think the kids get bored and break stuff. I have witnessed kids deliberatly break windows. I made them write the resident a note and clean up the broken glass--Im surprised they did what I asked! They like to play up the "Courtesy Officer" who lives there but my neighbors were having a loud, physical fight and I called the courtesy officer's beeper several times--never got a call back so I had to call the police who also showed up 2 hours later. Yeah...unless your neighbors are killing each other with guns and you actually see blood, don't count on the PD or anything. The price sounds great...till they slap you with other fees and such especially if you have a dog...pet rent AND pet deposit AND we still had to pay for pet stains' What the hell is a friggin pet deposit for' We are extremely happy to be living in a duplex with a yard. The problem with Springfield Crossing is that it seems so much better than the more central complexes with worse reputations but it has all the problems that those "trashy" places have down the road...they are just in a better location to deny it. Yes, I also just left this complex after a 1 1/2 years after finishing school at UTA. It was not a bad place during most of the first year but after new management was instituted the standards dropped dramatically. By the time we moved out it was getting bad with many kids roaming around and an increasing number of yelling matches between residents or couples. I guess with all the subprime people getting homes the past couple years the apartments had to lower their standards even more. It certain became apparent at SC.

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head with your response. The standards Springfield Crossing uses to accept tenants are dropping rapidly. When that happens, any apartment complex will start to deteriorate. I have to laugh about their on and off again functioning security gates. I don't feel any safer when they actually do close the gates. I feel like I'm being locked in with a bunch of felons, drug pushers, loud and rude idiots, and other assorted low-lifes. I'd be better off standing outside! Will be leaving soon!

yeah, management openly admitted how horrible the tenant below me was. That they had been dealing w/ him for a while. They supposedly talked to him about cussing me out and threatening me, however though he admitted to it, they STILL cannot do anything about it?! Even after my police report? This went on for mths, finally moved out because I was advised if there was another noise complaint, we were gone. Let me just say, this particular tenant (same one who cusses me out) threatened me for doing my dishes too loud. management simply laughs it off...
