First of all, unless that previous poster was walking their dog at 3 AM, then they wouldn't hear or see the partiers jumping from apartment to apartment. Yes, there are partiers jumping from apartment to apartment. My neighbors are constantly having parties. I can't tell you how MAD it makes me to have idiot kids leaving beer bottles all around the complex, not to mention that their parties don't end until the early hours of the morning!

Second of all, if the previous poster likes the front office staff at all, it really underscores the type of trash that lives at St. Andrews. Of course, trash will like trash.

People blast their radios at night from the parking lot. There are gangs that roll through. Once again, unless the previous poster was up walking their dog at 3 AM, then obviously they wouldn't see it. However, it's highly surprising that they don't hear it! Possibly a little asymmetrical information going on here'

The previous poster says some of the residents work odd hours. Yes, they do. It's hard to deal drugs in broad daylight.

Of course, if they poster is really the down-to-earth every day, average American like they allude to, then they wouldn't be up at 3 AM anyway. They'd have work the next day. Unless, of course, they work odd hours dealing drugs and blaring music at night, like the rest of the trash does.

I am never up that late, because unlike the trash that lives here, I have a real job. However, I have not gotten a single wink of sleep since living here, because every night, idiot pieces of trash can't stop their partying, etc.

My work schedule is hectic, not to mention I am currently working on my masters at SMU. Sometimes, I have a late group meeting or something I have to attend, so I won't get home until later that night. However, even in that circumstance, I never come home past 10:30 or so. Nonetheless, my point is even then, you will see the trash starting to collect around the complex. The ghetto cars on 24 inch rims rolling through, the black people skulking around, the party kids yelling as they start to become drunk, and the porch monkeys downing their 40's as they stare at you as you pass by to get to your apartment.

No, the gate is not broken for more than 24 hours; however, it's broken ALL the time. It works for one hour out of the day, and the other 23 hours, it's broken.

If this is by far the best management team they've ever seen, then they've obviously only lived in trash dumpsters, cardboard boxes, and doublewide trailers their entire life.

The bug and rodent issue is out of control. No kidding snakes live near rivers. However, to refuse to do anything about it, and then to blame it on the resident for it being there is absurd.

Yes, ---- is a stoner. I agree with the previous posts. Every time I have talked to her, she's been in mushroom land. Her eyes are glazed, etc.

------- is the better of all of them, but yes, she is a total moron. I asked her to write a work order to fix my closet door, and she couldn't understand my request. It's as if she had never heard of a closet door before. Needless to say, the order went unfulfilled.

--------- is the worst! At least you can get by ---- by just sitting her in a corner and telling her to play with herself, or ------- by writing everything you want out on a napkin in very bright colors with crayons, but with ---------, there's nothing you can do. You just have to sit back and take it. --------- will make it very clear that showing up and collecting her paycheck is ALL she has the mind to do. Forget about residents, she has her own problems!

To further highlight the trash that lives here, the previous poster talks about their washing machine; their "rented" washing machine. I'd imagine their car is probably rented too, as is their furniture, etc.

Socioeconomically, I think my target audience understands what I am saying here.

Trash need not respond to this. I am not writing this for them, because they cannot possibly understand what a dump this place is. I am targeting the upper-middle class, younger crowd with good jobs, great educations, and some real ambition in life who see no reason to own right now, be it market conditions or otherwise.

I will preface every response to this by saying if someone responds with something like, "These people are sick, doped up, etc., this place is great," then you know the poster is part of the problem and is trash. Any positive review of this place should be a dead giveaway as to the poster's lot in life!

The unfortunate part is that it is a great location. It's right in the dead center of Dallas and Fort Worth, and it has very easy access to all of the major highways. It's very nice in that respect.

However, you cannot fall into that trap. I would much rather inconvenience myself slightly to not live in a landfill like St. Andrews.

A previous poster mentioned that you really shouldn't even consider Arlington as a place to live. I agree. It's a total ghetto. Arlington's reputation precedes it, if you have the foresight enough to listen. Unfortunately, I didn't. Don't make that same mistake.

If you really want a good place to live, consider Uptown, Plano, etc. I am moving to Uptown at the end of my 12-month lease where you will find people more inline demographically and socioeconomically with a younger, ambitious, and educated crowd.

The bottom line is that St. Andrews is a cesspool.

If you're a piece of trash, you will more than love this place. You will probably end up like the all the other trash residents and stay for ten years. This place will become home to you.

If you are not a piece of trash, then do not move here. As a matter of fact, just keeping driving as fast as you can past Arlington. Floor it and make the speedometer top out. The faster you can get by this ghetto wasteland, the better off you will be.

There is good news, however.

As of right now, plans are in the works to build a massive residential and commercial development in the large field behind St. Andrews at Lake of Bird's Fort. Currently, they are drilling for natural gas on it, but as soon as the production wells are finished, developers plan on commencing building. With any luck, and a prayer or two to God, the developers will raze St. Andrews, if not to make room for the sprawling development, then to clear the trash from devaluing their property investment!

To further illustrate my point in this post, read previous posts over the years. History tells an all too clear story. Just the mere fact that such volatility between posters' opinions exists should be enough to make you highly question St. Andrews. If St. Andrews was really that great of a place, then every single post, save for one or two, should just gush about how great it is. This is obviously not the case. Hindsight is 20/20, and in this case, if you're a smart person, so can your foresight!

On October 6, 2006, O.K. Carter of the Star-Telegram wrote a story that explained it all. You can search for it on the website. It had the title of something like "List of Leaders Who Have Left Is Telling".

As the article explains, currently, there is a major exodus of upper-middle class, white people from Arlington. Replacing them are low class, obviously much poorer minorities. Crime is way up, poverty is way up, more and more people are becoming homeless every day, all of the school ratings are down, and the general area is going to hell in a hand basket. This demographic trend is all too obvious when you live at St. Andrews.

If my post does not convince you to stay away from St. Andrews and Arlington, then read that article. It certainly will convince you to stay away, and if nothing else, it'll at least scare you enough to rethink your decision!

sounds to me like you have personal issues! anyone can tell just by the way you write. have you ever considered that maybe people are just social. maybe if you crawl out of your hermit shell you could be too. a friendly conversation or two never hurt anyone. in fact, last time i checked, it only helps! you are a gaffer, my friend. and you think youre better than everyone else, when in fact you are not. maybe you should take a good long look in the mirror before you go slamming others.

First of all, your posting does little more than portray the narrow-minded and ignorant ideals providing the foundation for the viewpoints and arguments that support racism and classism in our society. Your comments fundamentally represent the shameful and stereotypical viewpoints that are repeatedly associated with "White America". The article you quoted, which by the way is NOT easy to access (perhaps this was your goal), does not provide support for your comments. It is, however, one of the most pointless articles i have read in a long time. i will attach it to the bottom of my response, which you should have done, if it truly supported your message. if you desire to be surrounded by only white people then perhaps you should move to Vidor, TX. Your claim that you are an educated member of the upper middle class is laughable. The problem with your claim is that any educated person I have ever encountered is more than aware that the remarks that are included in your posting are usually made by uneducated, brainwashed individuals looking for something to cling onto (i.e. the type of person the KKK and other such debase organizations recruit as potential members -you might want to try watching American History X). I won't even justify your other comments with a response, which by the way are ALL false; however, I will say that as a resident of St. Andrews I am ashamed that you are a part of such a great community of people.\ Here is the article: Paper: Fort Worth Star-Telegram (TX) Title: List of leaders who have left is telling Date: October 2, 2006 While looking about for an appropriate example of white flight ??? the most recent census report indicates that Arlington's non-Hispanic Anglo population has declined almost 24,000 since 2000 ??? a near perfect illustration dropped on my desk. It was a list of Arlington City Council members since 1970, including mayors. Counting the current nine members, the list comes to 60, which means that Arlington averages almost 1.7 new council members every year, not all that much turnover but nevertheless slightly more than a 19 percent annual flip. In the private sector, this would be considered high. From this vantage, it also indicates that people who fret about term limits are doing so needlessly, at least from at the city government level. As it turns out, an analysis of the list says considerably more about Arlington than just white flight. For example, of the 51 former council members since 1970, 10 have died. That's 19.6 percent. Only one, Carolyn Snider, died while in office, so don't confuse the mortality rate with the annual turnover. The stress of elected office may be a killer, but if so it takes its time. But here's the thought-provoking part related to white flight: Of the 41 former council members who are alive, 17 live in another city. That's about 40 percent. From a statistical perspective, this is not particularly alarming because the census indicates that about 70 percent of Arlington residents lived somewhere else five years ago. It's a highly transient city. On the other hand, elected officials aren't like most of us. They take an active part in governing, typically had high levels of public and civic service before they were elected, and, one would assume, are vested in the city's development and future. Yet more than a third of the former council members decided to move on. Asking them why would be an interesting project for some enterprising urban studies graduate student. The list indicates some other oddities about the body politic of Arlington. For instance, of all 60 members past and present, only 12 have been women. That's 20 percent. This is progress of a sort: Until Martha Walker's election in 1972, no woman had been elected to the Arlington council. As for the election of minority candidates, in 1970 the city's white population was more than 90 percent, so it figures that it would have been difficult for a minority candidate to win. That's been slowly changing ??? the census indicates that Arlington is about 50 percent minorities ??? but election outcomes haven't changed much. Since 1970, the city has elected two --------- to the council, including present Councilman Robert Rivera. Dan Serna was the first Hispanic on the council, and he wasn't elected until 1993. The only --------American elected to the council was Elzie Odom in 1990; Odom also served three terms as mayor beginning in 1997. As to what it all means, draw your own conclusions. O.K. Well, I'm not sure what the "average American" is supposed to be doing for a job. But I do know that my husband is a firefighter and works the graveyard shift. So he's out late because that's the schedule his job allows. Some people just have to work late. Yes, blaring music at ANY time of the day is inconsiderate, because there are some people who have to work night shifts and sleep during the day. But some people just don't grow up for awhile. However I think that it's pretty unfair and quite condescending to put party people and people who work late all into the same group. It sounds like you are very narrow minded, is that what they teach at SMU?

I don't even live at St. Andrews, I'm just looking to rent. I have to say just by reading your argument, it doesn't sound like the truth to me. I'm also suprised you couldn't find another word for trash I'm not going to waste my time counting how many times you wrote it, but there is a point at which it makes you very unbelievable.

About the odd hour job- I happen to work for the city police department working crime scene. There are cops who work grave yard, crime scene like me who work graveyard, and EMTs...and I sure don't thing they are dealing drugs! How dare you acuse people who shift their sleep schedules around, like me and many others, for the good of the community to do ignorant little shits like you a service! So you work 8-5? Well I guarantee I put in more hours than you...pardon me if it isn't on a schedule you deem worthy as respectable.

The St. Andrews Apartments are a member of the Texas Apartment Association. It has been our experience that often negative comments posted on this website are by residents who have been evicted for nonpayment of rent or other lease violations, or who have never actually lived on the property, or by competitors. Be cautious in assuming the truthfullness of postings by anonymous persons who refuse to disclose their identity. We recommend that visiting with current residents onsite is a more reliabele method of obtaining third-party opinions about our apartment community and its management. I am utterly dissatisfied with my month-long stint at St. Andrews, but you are a pompous ass.
