I have lived here for about 4 months also and so far I have liked it for the most part. I was a little worried after the reading the reviews about crazy gang people and all that other crap, but I honestly haven't seen anything like that. It's really a pretty quiet community and I've never really had any problems with noise. The only noise problems is the person who lives above me who sounds like he/she is stomping around all the time. Some weeks he/she is there and Constantly walks around and around and the pictures shake on the wall. Other days he/she isn't there, it's very odd. It hasn't gotten so bad as to make me lose sleep though, it's just annoying.
Let's see, yes there is a lot of water and it wouldn't be such a big deal if the had a better drainage system, but the water ends up pooling in the center of the street and so you have to drive through it and it will make your car wet and dirty.
I have a problem with ants that won't seem to go away. They have sprayed for them twice already and I have no complaints in the managements quickness to respond. However, the ants are still so bad that I have to put cereal and bread in the freezer or fridge to keep the ants away. They get in everything and are in the bathroom and closet. They are annoying but they don't seem to bite, so I haven't gone too crazy yet. Hopefully they will die soon.
I've only seen the gate broken about 2 times and it was fixed within a day or two. When I first moved in the outside storage door lock was broken and I asked Jody if someone could fix it and she was very prompt and nice and the maintenance guy fixed it w/in a day or two.
One thing I wish they would do is to say that only residents can park under covered parking. Often times when I get off of school or work late at night and come home there are different cars parked where I normally try to park :( And I wish that there was a pantry in my apartment! The smallest apartments do not come with a pantry area, just to forewarn you.
Overall I like St. Andrews and it seems to be pretty reasonably priced for the smaller apartments, but the larger ones seemed to be much more costly.
I still have about ten months of my lease left so we shall see how they go.
