IT SUCKS. THEY LOOK NICE BUT EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKS

This place sucks. The water is turned off at least 10 times each month, and most of the times without prior notice. You wake up in the morning expecting to take a shower and head on to work and next thing you know, the water is off and you cant do anything about it. You call and ask and they'll say they put out the notices (which is bull because I wouldve gotten them) or they say it was a last minute emergency and they didnt have time to notify the residents. But these emergencies seem to happen all the time. When I was moving in, they never mentioned anything about this. I almost lost my job because of this water situation. I remember the first 7 times it happened, I was only notified twice in advance. The other 5 times, I had to use bottled water to brush my teeth and wet my hair so I can gel it and go to work. The last 2 months, they sent out notices in advance of all the days on which the water is going to be turned off, and they still turned it off on days not on that notice. I called and asked and yes they said it!!! "IT WAS A LAST MINUTE EMERGENCY." Another thing is that when I moved in, they said that all i was responsible for was rent and water; no gas, no trash or anything like that. I asked how much and they said it ranges from 10 to about 25 tops. I got my first bill and it was 55. The reason it was 55 was because they charged me for all those things they said they dont charge for. Also, it takes them forever to come fix whatever problems you might have at the apartment. Youd have to go there at least 3, 4 or even 5 times before they come and half-assedly take care of whatever problem you have. One of my closet doors is still broken from the time I moved in, and it's been 8 months. I just gave up on it. Im still waiting for them "to get the new hinges" or whatever it was she said. By the way, just in case you think Im a bad resident, I've never been late on anything. As a matter of fact, there were a couple of times when I paid everything weeks in advance. I've lived at a not so nice aprtment complex and never experienced the lack of service and care they have over here. One last note, after the water shut-offs got to be unbearable, a friend of mine who used to manage some apartment complex gave me a number in dallas to call and complain but it was to no avail because the property manager at Summit is her own boss and there's virtually no one over her. Most complexes have a manager in the regional office above the property manager but not summit. So I couldnt complain to anyone. So I decided to talk to Sue (the property manager) and see if I can break my lease because I didnt want to lose my job on account of the water crap, and she threatened me by saying she would charge me something like $800/month for all the months left on my lease if I were to move out!!! It's a lose lose situation for me so Im sucking it up for now until my lease is up.
