Completely Honest From: julie.machuca@alconlabs.com Date posted: 5/19/2005 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005   I just got back from being sued by the Cliffs. Honestly up until 12 days ago I was considering renewing my lease. However, upon losing my check that was dropped in the night box, we were evicted and sued for rent because we refused to pay late fees for their mistake. The office staff I have always found to be rude and not the easiest to deal with. It took them a month after my pet deposit checks were cashed to give me my pet addendum. The maintenance staff was always friendly and helpful. The grounds at the entry are well kept but as you move to the back of the complex, you will find swampy conditions and lots of dog poop. The pet policies are not followed as dogs deficate everywhere and I have seen many dogs without their leashes. The complex was quiet outside at night where our apartment was but the walls are VERY thin. In the morning when all was quiet, we could hear the guy above us opening his dresser drawers. You can hear phone conversations and everything. If you are a light sleeper, I really wouldn't recommend this place. We complained about the noise but nothing changed. We were told at another complex that they could have put the guy in a hotel for the weekend and the problem could have been fixed. The only advice I have is to either get a receipt when you pay rent or watch your checking account every day after you pay rent to ensure your check was cashed or you will be held liable by law for their mistake. Also just wanted to let you know that many times your rent check will clear your bank on the day that you drop it off so be sure that the funds are there before you give your check because there are many fees associated with this also. If the office staff had better customer service skills, this place wouldn't be as bad as it is although you can go to other places that are nicer for the same price like St. Andrews. Just beware that The Cliffs are very friendly when you first move in and then it all changes and it becomes all about their money. Basically, for the price you can do better elsewhere.
