Happy Here

I've lived here for about six months, and overall I have been very happy. Not only do I have my own reserved covered parking spot included in my rent, but there is also ample uncovered parking for visitors. Most of the time, it is a very quiet community; I have only had to call the courtesy officer with a noise complaint once. It is an older appartment complex, but the grounds, buildings, pools, etc. are well-maintained. I've always felt safe here, but I highly recommend that everyone check the Arlington police department's website for current crime statistics before moving here or anywhere else in Arlington. The staff is friendly, professional, and knows me by my first name. The location is great--just minutes from everything on Cooper street (and it seems that everything IS on Cooper street) and the new Arlington Highlands development, but there are several "back ways" around the heavy traffic spots if, as I do, you make it a habit to avoid Cooper street when possible.
What I like best about Villa Del Mar, though, is not a community feature per se--it's my apartment itself. I live in the smallest one-bedroom floorplan, which is the perfect size for me. It comes with a fireplace, ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom, a stacked washer/dryer in unit, and a cozy little patio/balcony with extra storage--all for well under $600 per month. (I got a special, though, and I know specials are always changing; market rate is a bit over $600, I think.) I also like that the complex is prewired for individual intrusion alarms. Although the cost of alarm monitoring is not included in the rent, I think it's well worth it. I looked at some newer communities in late 2006, right before I made the move to Villa Del Mar, and although they were nice they did not offer all of the amenities that Villa Del Mar does . . . and they were more expensive too. At Villa Del Mar, I was able to stay within my budget and get everything I wanted too. Unless things change drastically for the worse, I plan on staying here for a long time. bYr9ljUwtCbMRXE8dRDC

Ummm....are you the manager? Sorry, I have had so many problems with this place and with the managment that it's hard to believe there is someone who lives here and has no problem with it or with the managment.

This must be an employee. The whole SPEECH was written as if they were trying to advertise and sell the community. I guess they have alot of free time to play on apartment web sites. I live here and also agree that things have changed.

Haha this is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard! What a joke... nobody renting from an apartment talks like this. Everyone probably has at least one or 2 little gripes, and even if the don't they wouldn't talk up everything like this. Notice how they tried to subtly mention that there is a courtesy officer and talked up the "cozy" (AKA small) patio.
This is like a poorly-written 7th graders' TAAS paper...
