I moved into these apartments on my first adventure to adulthood. I got a cute one bedroom, paid for it all by myself. I loved it. There were a couple of things that could've been fixed, but thats what i expected cause the complex is pretty old. i pretty much dealed with all my issues in a regular fashion. if something wasn't working i would call, they would come out and fix it. i had a little kitten. she was a very good cat, never clawed anything, not even my furniture. when my 10 months lease was up, i read through all my papers to accomplish everything i needed to, to recieved my full deposit back. my mom and i cleaned inside and outside of everything, we even rented a carpet steamer cleaner so the apartments wouldn't have to do it. well i put in my 30 day notice the day i surrendered the apartment because i was going on vacation for several weeks and would not have enough time to move out before the end of 30 days!! the management staff assure me that was ok. i did not recieve anything back until 60 days later, and what i got was an outrageous bill. on the bill they had charges that weren't even mine, they replaced the whole carpet, they did repairs to the concrete foundation....it was ridiculous, they said for pet damages. When i called very confused on this, cause my cat is a kitten and im a clean freak, the office manager syilvia, talked to me as if i had a 20-kegger my last night there and thrashed the place. i told her i was 100% sure i left that apartment cleaner than when i moved in. she told me that she expected that bill to be paid in 10 days and she would email me the pictures of all my damage. 2 days past, no pictures. my parents, who are very concerned on this, paid syilvia a visit on the 3 day of still no pictures. my parents found out that apparently there were no pictures of my "damage" and my "damage" turned into "smells" which was caused by me having my electricity turned off upon moving out and them waiting 60 days to inspect the apartment and they said the extreme tempertures caused a bad oder. WTF'!'!'!' she also told them that the bill they sent me should've been way more, but they were being nice. she accused me of mini-blind damage, and then went back on that. so at the end of it all, it was take them to small claims and spend money to my money, surrender my deposit and pay no futher charges or pay everything. so of course i choose to surrender my deposit so i didn't have to fight with them anymore. So basically, they were trying to get anything they could from me. they weren't expecting my parent to show up about this and when they did they couldn't find anything to say about the bill but change it all up and say it was because of a smell. if you want to move there. you better watch what they charge you cause they will find anything to write you a bill.
