I moved out of these apartments this past spring and i definitely will never lease here again. The first and BIGGEST problem i had with these apts was the water bills!! I faithfully paid my water bill with my rent EVERY SINGLE month but STILL managed to get letters from the leasing office every couple of months saying "oops, the water bill was wrong, pls pay an additional blah blah blah.." i NEVER had this problem with any other apt ive lived in and i found that problem quite fishy at Walnut Creek.
Another problem i had with these apts was the electricity issues, the whole year i lived here i was without power numerous times for no reason . The apts electric wiring apparantly is bad.I heard from neighbors when i lived there that some buildings would have power while others did not at times.
Thirdly, i didnt like the parking AT ALL. The so called "reserved covered parking" which was reserved for residents only was no good at all!! Unless i came home EARLY I always had to park far away from my building in the uncovered part because others from the building beside ours always parked in the spots in front of the building i lived in since all of the spots in front of theirs were full. A MAJOR inconvience when you have groceries to unload, etc. The soil was nasty too! All around the apt it was like mud all the time even on nongrassy areas. I remember signing a waiver when i moved in about the soil, so i guess thats what was expected.
There are houses behind the complex and i had numerous sleepless nights because of all of the barking dogs!! I like my peace and quite so that did not sit well for me.
All in all, i did not have a pleasant time at Walnut Creek.
I will say though that maintenence was very good here. Very friendly and prompt with repairs.
I am currently renting a home now and and liking it a lot better. If times ever get hard for me when i cannot afford to rent a home, i defintiely wont choose Walnut Creek as a place to live.
