In the 1 1/2 years I lived at this complex, it went from ok to downright NOT SAFE. The complex is right on Cooper Street and with FOUR entrance/exits...it's a thief's HAVEN. I, myself, was a witness to a neighbor stealing another neighbor's car right outside of my apartment. Before that happened, there were several other vehicle thefts from right out in front. Not to mention, I watched 2 guys get arrested for drugs, and found out later that one of them had a GUN.
At the moment, they are trying to make the place 'look' better. Replacing siding, etc...but until there is some kind of security (ie: access gates), the crime will only grown...and Section 8 housing is inevitable. South Arlington is getting bad period for crime and unfortunately this complex has grown victim to that. Gangs, drugs, assault...
A GREAT website I found for Arlington apartment complex crime rate is arlingtonpd.org...you can look up crime stats by APARTMENT COMPLEX!! Compare Wimbledon Oaks to right across the street at Wimbledon Oaks COURT...it's AMAZING what access gates can do.
As far as the staff..they were AWESOME. Although most of the staff left the same week I did. Rachel is GREAT...and Mick (security officer) is AWESOME. But the other leasing agent and apartment manager left when I did. It's a shame...that place could be an awesome place to live...area is just depleting :(

So DO NOT BE FOOLED BY A 'GOOD MOVE-IN DEAL!!'
