The best thing about Athena Gardens is the grounds are very neat, and tidy. THe maintenace staff is wonderful, in keeping the trash clean and with repairs. The apartments are also spacious with a big walk-in closet. If those are the most important things above everything else, then this is a good place for you.
However, they are very noisy. I can always hear noise from people upstairs, including their conversations and other more private activities. Not to mention the noises in the parking lot including arguments, car alarms, the very very many birds that live in the bushes across the parking lot. The one time I complained about the noises to the management, the tenants confronted me about the complaints, meaning that they knew it was me.
When I first moved in I felt like it was a safe place to live, but with a change in management, I no longer feel safe to go outside of my apartment alone at night.
I fell like there is no privacy with the apartments just a few feet from the parking lot. And whenever the management needs to enter your apartment for inspection, or pest control, they only give you 1 days notice. Usually the night before they want to enter.
The unit I am in was not very clean, there was mold along the cracks of the window and in the tub, which have been caulked over making it impossible to clean out.
The management is very rarely in the office, even though the office hours ore posted on the door, they do not keep them. It's a game of chance catching them inside.
Overall, this is a bad place to live.
