Most everything that has been said about the apartments themselves I agree with, I would like to point out that the A/C units sound like jet engines, making it kind of hard to watch TV or make a phone call. It's also important to point out that the new thermostats come directly from Austin energy, and they reserve the right to cut your A/C off (yes, cut it off from the plant) for up to 20 minutes. This hasn't happened yet, but we'll see how it goes in the Summer.
The biggest plus most people mention is the landlords and the maintenance man, Bill. You really won't find a situation like this anywhere else. Bill is fantastic, I've never had a problem he didn't fix fast. Jeff, one of the landlords, is a very nice guy who really will genuinely listen to what you have to say. Leslie, his wife and the other landlord, doesn't have a very good bedside manner. She can come off condescendingly, but between Bill and Jeff you shouldn't have to deal with her much.
All in all I just wanted to say that these reviews aren't shams, it is a good complex, not perfect, but I've never been in one that was. It's SURE better than those industrialized complexes like the Block or Quarters.
