Aside from being very cheaply constructed and maintained, 900 W 23rd apartments are run by a team of rude, unaccountable, shifty, outrageously ridiculous people.

The location is great. yes. However, it is not worth the trouble and heartache, not to mention all the money you will lose, of living here.

I lived with 2 other girls. We are all clean, nice and good tenants. So, when our car got towed out of our spot and we had to pay both time and money to rectify the situation, fine, when we were locked out of our apartment building for 2 weeks because they changed the swipe card codes without reactivating ours and had to break in to our own building because the management didn't consider this an "emergency", fine, when maintenance required 3 weeks of patient wondering, fine. However, when we moved out and received a statement suggesting that we had incurred $800 worth of damages, NOT FINE.

We were charged for carpet replacement and painting damages somewhere in the vicinity of $400. That sounds reasonable considering there WAS NOT ANY DAMAGE TO THE CARPET OR PAINT.

West Campus is a great location, a great student environment, yada yada. However, please avoid living in one of these cheaply constructed, poorly managed megaplexes that will spend all of their time incurring ridiculous charges against you and not trying to make living in their complex worth your while.

My roommates and I had high hopes for 900 W 23 but after living there for a year we can safely assure you that it is more trouble than it's worth. Craig Coffee and his minions are RUDE and don't care about you. They made ME cry when I called concerned about the fact that they towed MY car out of MY spot and I had to pay $200 and an entire afternoon to get it back.

I cannot emphasize enough how awful our time here was. You get to campus in 5 minutes but going home means dealing with more slamming-head-against-wall situations with the management.

When there was vomit on our doorstep (not OUR vomit, by the way), it took the management about 3 weeks to get in to clean it up. What else do they have to do that it takes them 3 weeks to take care of tenants who pay them outrageous amounts of rent ON TIME every month' Oh, they are busy on their calculators seeing how they can charge us MORE for it.

PLEASE DO NOT LIVE HERE. I'm sparing you the details of countless other examples of why this place is awful. Take my word for it. Live somewhere..anywhere...else.
