Issues started since the beginning with the request for all payments to be done with money orders when both of our credit histories and rental histories were perfectly fine. I should have known at that point to turn my back but I made the mistake not to. We got around that (can't recall how) and were allowed to do the usual automatic withdrawal of the rent (EFT).

Another big mistake we made was not to demand to see the actual apartment before signing the lease. Even though the lease gives you the option to rescind and leave penalty free, it is too late for obvious reasons.

CLOSETS/STORAGE - The apartment was quite large but it had virtually no closet space, and the least storage space I've ever had in an apartment.

KITCHEN - The kitchen was in such a poor shape that I would be embarrassed to show it to guests if it were mine. Instead it was a good example for our guests of why it isn t worthwhile to live here. The appliances were probably from the 80s and worked very poorly. The fridge, for example, would not keep a stable temperature. I have measurement instruments that record the temperature over time and I found out why my food would often freeze or get too warm. The cabinets in the entire apartment needed to be replaced as the finish (wait what finish''') was ruined, and the trim was peeling off almost everywhere. Water damage was also to blame for the poor state of the cabinetry around the sink. The faucets are the old style so forget mixers you can operate with one hand selecting the right temperature while cooking I got scolded several times. Ours was also leaking from the base of the spout as it was really old. They replaced it a few months before our departure after many requests to do something about our kitchen. The FLOOR in the kitchen was sagging, possibly due to old water damage.

AC/HEATING Even though I know that a 3 rd floor under the roof is going to be more difficult to heat or cool, this apartment had a really inefficient AC unit. My bills were the highest ever and in the summer it was impossible to keep the apartment at a reasonable cool temperature. The AC ducts were spitting out debris so we got them to come clean them out (probably never done in 10 years). The cooling element just behind the air filter was 70% or more clogged with dirt that collected over the decades probably never services in over a decade no wonder it wouldn t cool!!! They say they cleaned it per my request but I never checked as I had given up on them long before. My bills were just under $200 a month in the summer!

WALLS Like Swiss cheese. Over the years many holes have been made and always poorly patched. I made a series of holes in the living room to attach a long shelf and got charged all of my deposit to texture the patched holes. I really wonder if they will even bother to do so judging by the rest of the apartment. Of course they did not forget to charge me for the holes

NEIGHBORS Our neighbors are either university students or families with kids so don t expect a quiet and pleasant environment. I lost count of the hundreds of times that front doors were slammed in a day making the entire building shake. Kids below us ran us nuts by running and jumping day and night.

POOL They have two tiny pools. The smallest I ve ever had in a complex so stay clear if you enjoy your summer pool time.

GATES I believe they were often open or disabled.

STAFF Although it was pleasant to deal with most of the staff at AMLI, I can t say the same about their rules and policies. AMLI is self-centered as you have to do everything their way when you move out, the months available for move out depend on their occupancy. In other words if their occupancy is low they will force you to move out another month so their numbers look good, etc. I am referring to when you are setting a move out date, as once it is on the lease they can t force you to change. You most likely hear about this if you try to go on a month to month basis. I was surprised and pleased when they did not make a huge fuss about a 5 day late move out notice we found a house and proceeded to buy it in a really short time as we really wanted to get out of there asap!

PETS I don t have any but according to their staff I first had a dog, and then a cat. During a walk by a staff member said she heard a dog bark in my apartment and since I had a door mat saying wipe your paws she left me a standard form threatening me of charges unless I went to the office to pay the deposit. The second time I got a letter asking me to clean up my entrance as it was full of feathers supposedly left there by my imaginary cat. I DO NOT HAVE A CAT! The feathers are a result of the dozens of birds that infest the buildings at AMLI. To resolve the issue of being accused of having undisclosed pets I told them I would remove my wipe your paws door mat that same day and I did.

Do I need to go any further' I have enough to go on for a few more pages, but if you have read it all, I am sure you will agree that AMLI at STONEHOLLOW is not the place for you, as you can find much lower priced apartments that are way more pleasant to live in.

One thing I DO OWE to AMLI... thank you for pushing me to buy my new 2600sqft home! Now I am no longer wasting my money...

I also had a major problem with the pigeons roosting on my porch, but the pigeon debris was across my entire porch. It was so bad that I had to clean it by connecting a water hose to my W/D outlet and spray off my deck. Purchasing a sun shade helped for a couple months, but I still found pigeons on my porch after a couple months.

Amli At Stonehollow is the worst apartment complex that I have ever lived in. It has the rudest and most unhelpful staff managing the place. They either take three weeks to respond to a request or they simply don??????t respond at all. They tell you they??????re doing things for you as a courtesy but in reality it ends up wasting your time b/c you have to reschedule 10 times since they can??????t seem to keep an appointment. Their ??????Community Manager,?????? Tricia C. is never there or never available at least. Well not to respond to any of the residents request at least. They (the staff and Assistant Community Manager) seem to always be there to write the residents fines though! From telling a resident to put their pets in the bathroom so that they can come perform a ??????courtesy?????? for you to the fire alarms going off and on at all hours of the night??????this is just not the place anyone would want to call home.
