This complex is NOT safe!
My car was broken into while parked under my carport right smack in the middle of the day. I had just come home and went into my apartment for half an hour, when I came out someone had pried open the side of my car window and bashed in the glass to get to my ipod. I understand that it was my fault for leaving anything in my car for any period of time and I simply didn't think anything like this would happen.

I call the apartment office and I was instructed to call the police first then to call the office back right away with a case number for their report. So I did and the office said they were sorry to hear that had happened. I already knew that the Amli is not responsible for any theft or damage to any of my personal property, however I did expect to see a notice go around immediately to inform all my neighbors of what had happen and to be cautious. The next day I received a call from the office asking for more information about the incident. When I explained what had happened again the rep responded "Oh, well if you left your ipod in the car" , implying that I was just asking for this!!!!

After a few days I spoke with a few of my neighbors, all which were surprised that we had not received a notice yet,and I decided to do some research on crime in our area. The last paper (they usually send out random emails which not ALL residence get) notice of any incident on property was sent out was over a month ago informing residents of 2nd floor apartments which had been burglarized. Curious I went online to look at police incident reports for this street and found that 7 vehicles and 5 Apartments have been broken into in the last 2 months!

I don't expect the Amli to hold my hand through this incident, nor do I expect them to apologize. What I do demand from any apartment complex is to keep me well informed of crime that occurs in my place of residence!! To care about the safety of all their residents!! I expect them to make sure the gate is always maintained and secure, which on this property is NOT!! I expect them to take the complaints of their residents seriously, which they do NOT!! I will not be renewing my lease.
