Mold problem, etc...

We moved in at the end of April and found mold in our master bath by mid May. The first time we reported mold, they came out and bleached the wall. Two weeks later, we smelled it again. Discovered it growing under the sink this time. We notified the office in writing and requested it be tested and removed. They came out that day and bleached the wall again, but took samples, sent them for testing, and within a couple of days had people out to replace the sheetrock in the bathroom (on the affected wall) and on the outside as well. I am not sure if the people they hired to remove the mold were completely thorough, but so far, it has not come back. There was some Stachybotrys and a couple of other bad types of mold. The management has made an effort to rid the building of the mold, and have repaired the water leak in the pipe that caused the problem, so we are waiting to see if it returns. At the beginning of July they came and bleached the baseboard that backs up to our other bathroom. May have a mold problem there too. Watching to see...
We have had some repair calls other than that and they were handled, but you may have to call a couple of times to get them to finish a job.
The grounds are nice, pool clean, but my child has stepped on glass around the pool. Can?t make everyone keep glass containers out, I guess.
We have dealt with sugar ants since moving in. Took the exterminator three tries, but he finally sprayed them instead of baiting them and they are now gone (early July 2003). Still see ants outside frequently though.
The office has added some much needed speed bumps this last month. Has slowed down the speed demons around here somewhat. A bit safer for kids now. Great improvement!
The "gated" community...was a joke until this month (July 2003). Until then, I had only used my remote once. The gates are now being used probably about 70% of the time.
The office staff...has always been courteous and professional. Getting call backs from the office can be a challenge though at times.
We can hear the people above us walking and washing clothes, rearranging, doing dishes, and tell when they are filling the tub. It is a bit loud sometimes, but that often goes with life on the bottom floor. Other than that, the complex is pretty quiet here most of the time.
Nice view.
