Ok. The first year we were here, everything was fine. But as soon as we signed our second year lease, stuff started going wrong. First, this place has a 60 day move out notice. The management did not tell us how much our rent was going up until it was too late to submit a 60 day notice.
Then, all of the sudden, our water bill went from being around $30 to being $70. Suspicious, I called the water company and they said my meter was broken and that it would not be fixed and that they were just asigning a random number for the amount of water used. What did the management do when they found out' They switched to a system where we are all billed collectively so no one sees whats happening.
Then, all of the sudden we were not allowed to keep two bikes on a 20 foot balcony. Then they told us that we had to remove a box containing our camping gear. This box is only 2.5 x 1 ft. It is not unsightly and it is hardly visible. Plus, were are we supposed to put that stuff' We live in a one bedroom apartment with 3 small closets and no storage closet on our patio.
This place sucks and I would not recommend it to anyone.

You are just like the guy before. Get you're facts straight. If you ask they tell you what you want to know. I wish you'd try living in other "bad" parts of town. Then you would really know what "bad" customer service.

TO anonymous - who are you??? You sure have some nerve telling residents to get their facts straight and what not. You must either be a petty staff member or a petty fool who lives here. You get ZERO brownie points. I appreciate these honest reviews and I hope that people continue to tell us the reality of living in certain apts...this one included.

I have lived at an AMLI property for the past two years. I had the exact same issue with the water bill at our complex as well. It happened for three consecutive months and they explained that they changed billing providers and that they would re-credit our account. I called several times over the next three months and never saw the applied credit to my water bill. In addition repairs were never done within the alloted 48 hour guarantee. Any requests submitted were never been completed without having to make a second or third follow up call. In the last two years we have submitted 10 requests to fix the plumbing in our apartment home. There have been two separate occassions where our restrooms were inoperable for more than two business days and into the weekend. I did to choose to live here for two consecutive years and did so because the rent was so inexpensive. You get what you pay for with AMLI. Cheap rent unprofessional staff, poor service and excuses.

Yup - same here - the water bill is nuts, service sucks - except for the maitenance guys, they are pretty good. I've dealt with the negatives because moving sucks and the inside of my apt is home but for what I pay with rent & water I can afford a place with better service, parking, lights, working security gates, clean facilites and office hours that are good for the working person.
