DO NOT LIVE HERE!

It's true that this place used to be one of the best places to live in Austin. The property is nice but the management/staff is a nightmare! Around mid 2004, there were some changes to the staff and things started getting really bad. Phone calls were returned late; service requests were not completed at the time that was promised; staff is rude; and most of all they always try to rip you off somehow with fees and surprise charges that were never specifically written anywhere.. When we moved out of the apt (Thank God!), we had to pay for things that we WERE TOLD, were free. Bottom line, they are the nicest people on earth when they try to get your business and they "verbally" tell you all the "additional amenities and free stuffs" that they have but as soon as you are a tenant, they could care less! And when you start complaining, they send you a copy of your contract to "remind" you that they got your signature, instead of talking to you and trying work it out. How rude!

I've lived at Scofield Ridge for 2 years and have NEVER experienced any of the bad service mentioned in this review. The staff has always gone above and beyond to work out any issues I have, whether they be maintenance related or not. Here's a tip: Read your lease before you sign it. Then you won't have a nasty surprise. Just a thought.

I too have lived here for about two years, and the only complaint that I have is they didn't warn me before they drained the hot-tub. Everything else has been great; they even give a free continental breakfast on saturdays.
